Welcome to the site Boomer! Congrats on the new wheels too, the '99 CBR6 is a great machine. I had an '00 model last year and loved it to bits...well, wrote it off to bits actually, but that's another story which is well documented on this site somewhere.

Keep us updated with your progress on the new wheels and if possible upload some photos of it for our viewing pleasure.

    Enjoy KB!

From the photo it looks like a good specimen. I bought mine from Cyclespot too, it only had 1800kms on the clock. See attached at around 12,000kms & a few mods later...

Yes it *was* a minter! Modifications I made to that bike were as follows:
    • Scorpion Muffler (cannister only)
    • Dynojet carburetor jet kit
    • K&N air filter
    • 15 tooth front sprocket
    • Rear catseyes clear indicators
    • Trimmed off rear plastic hanger (hangs under rego plate)
    • Mongoose remote alarm system
    • Ventura pack rack system
    • Various additional stickers
As far as mods you can do, the sky is the limit I suppose ranging from engine & suspension mods to cosmetic ones. Stick around and get involved on KB and your knowledge of these things will rapidly increase...you'll be an experienced noob in no time!

hey guys, what a welcome !!

Well, i think i've just fallen in love again. Speedmedic i was coming that way but about 11.15 - 11.30. I dont recall seeing anyone waving at me in an ambulance but then again i was on cloud 9 with a grin from ear to ear. Even though, as you say, it was pissin down.

well, ive has a good 2 hour run on her and im as stoked as a stoked thing. As i say im a bit of a noob rider so i didnt dare open her up... that will come though

The mrs is laughing at me now, ive just cleaned and waxed the bike and drooled over it for an hour in the garage..until tomorrow!

What's wrong with that??? My flatmate has put a nice, comfy, rocking armchair in the garage so you can sit there of an evening in the companionable glow of the bikes. Much nicer than sitting in front of the idiot box.
