    ISSUED 9:47am, Wednesday March 14, 2007

TRN'S WEATHER WATCH CENTRE has issued a STORM ALERT for AUCKLAND CITY.

Another front bringing severe weather will cross Auckland this afternoon and evening. Heavy showers are likely to contain hail and thunder, with severe gales in squalls gusting to 130km/h. Winds this strong can cause damage to houses, fell trees and make driving extremely hazardous. Boaties should check moorings urgently. Squalls could be very similar to last night's storm. The strongest squalls will ease late this evening. This severe weather is likely to affect many other regions across the country. MetService has issued 12 severe weather warnings for the country. See metservice.com for details

    Rode in this morning

The last couple of days I've taken the car and sat all pissed off in traffic while the weather was ok-ish. So decided that if it was fine this morning I would ride in and take what ever comes this avo. Well, it had 10 hours between getting to work at 7 and leaving at 5 to get crappy and blow over, but no. It waited until 5 and all hell broke loose. All that practicing riding in truck wind wash paid off. Will see how the morning looks and give it another go.
If you can't be a good example, be a horrible warning

Heheheheh, that was fun! I like weather, it makes things exciting. Bloody cold hands, though (my Quasi gloves got soaked on Monday, which was far wetter (I don't think the sports gloves are quite as waterproof as the touring gloves), so I was wearing GiJoe1313's old summer gloves that he won't take back).

Was riding down Symonds St on my way to uni on a very serious lean. Also went round a left hand corner and I could swear I was leaning right, or at least straight up and down. Traffic lights were a bitch though -- not only having to worry about keeping the frigging un-idling engine going with oil smoke coming off the headers, but having to plant both feet wide to stop from going arse over tit.
