A work mate of mine just spoke to Transit NZ, there is a major slip at Horokiwi.
There are major delays, there is one lane each way.
Once the rush hour starts, it may takes a couple of hours to get thru if not longer!!!!!!!!!

The slip has been cleared and all lanes are open, but there are still major delays.

I left work about 1445 and went home via the haywards was home at around 1600 so that wasn,t to bad.
Ahhh that's all good then. Maybe it was just someone panicking a bit much then.

Road was reopened to one lane north and two lanes south at 4pm today.
Left work at 16:45 and got home about 17:30 (5:30pm). About fifteen minutes longer than usual.
Matthewt and I raced along the motorway me in the wimpmobile and he on the Brutale.

Traffic wasn't bad around 6pm when we came through.
Apparently earlier in the day it was absolute chaos though, with traffic banked right back up to the Ngaruranga interchange. All the couriers going to L/Hutt went via Porirua/Haywards!

Being frustrated is disagreeable.
But the real disasters in life begin when you get what you want.
We left town at about 5:30 and it only took about 10 minutes longer than usual.

I'm beginning to think some of these people were not on their bikes yesterday, judging by those times to get home.Originally Posted by Eddieb

No, my bike isn't really designed for commuting and I wouldn't want to risk it with the morning cage dickheads still waking up. Plus the better half has to bring her car into town anyway for her job so I get a free ride.Originally Posted by celticno6

Left Ngauranga at 1615 and was at Korokoro by 1630. Then spent near 10 minutes waiting at the lights to get across the bridge to Old Hutt Road.
