And if you achieve that NO you can’t. I had a feeling Rob was a bad influence on you. You did stick to the 100 kmh speed limit last weekend when you took your brother out for a ride with the HB group?
He dropped Martin off with Jo before he went on the ride, and due to an unforeseen hold-up with my brakes, I didn't get to keep a fatherly eye on him.
The bike did sound gorgeous coming down to the hairpin under WhitePineBush tho while I sat by the waterfall carpark trying to figure out how I used so much gas....
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

    Hi there

Really off topic, but I thought I would ask here first

Does anyone know anyone that is fund-raising with dry firewood?
I would like to buy some and would rather support a club/charity if I can first

Call or PM me if you can help

    Cheers Scott

(will also consider anyone you know that is selling it that may not be fund-raising)

Dusty Butt 1000km - We knocked the bugger off what next?

Thanks for keeping an eye on him MSTRS. They need our guidance. Da bike has a nice tone. I like to listen to it from time to time.
Hope you have that brake thing sorted. Can a Zuki shop re fit new clips and rivet things or is it the end of them? They have not done many K’s.
Hope to see you for the muffin run. Been a while. Don’t drink too much with Mike on Saturday night 

Never realised how fast and how much fun inline 4 600s can be!

Said 151 mph.........gues thats about 250? Wind was a bit blustery so wound down after that.

Just like to point out that the speed test was of course done in controlled circumstances.........

KBer in Need - any ideas?

Hey guys, you know the Herceptin ride that's just done the country ending at Parliament on Wednesday? That's the one Nasty did (clever girl)

Well Maxine the organiser (and hubby Kerry) bought their own HiLux Diesel along as support vehicle towing a heavy enclosed bike trailer. After 2,000km the head gasket shat itself in Napier and the vehicle is still there, they live in Nelson and had to go home on their non-refundable ferry tickets on Thursday.

I'm not sure what I can do except offer them a bed and a pillion for her husband Kerry up to the Bay on Saturday. Anyone have any ideas that might help them? Somebody mentioned a roadside head-gasket service that exists but I can't find any reference to it. Know of anything like that in the Bay?

    Here's the story http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...5&postcount=67

Whatever, I hope we can see some of you on the waterfront after 1:15 Saturday when we stop for lunch on the Great NI Loop Ride

I can't help, Grub, but good luck to them.
I'm sure someone will be able to.

I have'nt heard of a roadside head gasket service, and I can't imagine it being viable in his circumstance.
If a head gasket has supposedly blown in a Hilux diesel, you can bet for sure the head is cracked or bent and will need machine shop work or a new cylinder head. Plus all the other related expenses. Its no small job either.
Sure one could throw a head gasket on, but it wont last and in this day and age of guarranteeing workmanship, its not viable to do on a diesel.
The cost of such a job is quite high, and the Hilux diesels frequently have this problem.
We probably do one a month on these. Plus my own Hilux did the same thing!

As said in the link by Grub, the only real thing is too get it to Wellington for him, but then theres always a cost.
I know the manager of vehicle salvage firm here in Hastings well, and we frequently do 'deals' for each other as they are just down the road from us.
But the 'deals' are only local work.
I can ask him if he could cut a good price if I know the details etc to transport it.
