It really did look very unloved. Specially as it was next to the R1 that the whole crowd wanted to look at. Gixxer 4 ever
But i get the fame of pushing his bike back! (i got like a million photos taken of me by one of his photo people as i was pushing it back.
Becides if i hadnt been there i am 100% sure he would have tryed to ither cross the track or rejoin the race, which in a superbike race would have ment death...

Incident type: Serious accident
Emergency services are currently dealing with a serious 2 car accident on the Napier-Taupo road (SH5). This has occured on the Napier side of the Mohaka bridge.
One of the occupants is in a very serious condition with several other with serious injuries.
A helicopter is on its way to help transport the injured to hospital.
It is anticipated that this road will be closed for another hour while the accident scene is cleared. There is no diversion available in this area.
A further email will be sent when the road is open.

Ummm that is a report from the police coms. I posted it so da locals know what is going on incase they have family coming/going on that road. Could explain the hold ups for arrivals etc. I have not had a road open Email yet so can’t say what is happening.
**Update**
At about 5.15pm this afternoon there was a headon accident between a car and a light truck on the Napier-Taupo Road (SH5). This occured on the Napier side of the Mohaka bridge.
The sole female occupant of the car had to be cut free from the wreckage and is in a very serious condition. The male and female occupants of the light truck have got moderate injuries. All the occupants have been flown by two helicopters to Hawkes Bay Hospital.
The cause of the accident is not known and this is being investigated by the Serious Crash Unit.
The road was closed for 3 hours while the accident scene was cleared. The road is now open (as at 8.15pm) Any further media enquiries should be directed to Napier police.

True, but for the number of vehicles I see on the road it is lucky we don’t have more accidents. We went out yesterday and the traffic was thick on the ground.
Big ups to the traffic officer that pointed the finger at me when I was day dreaming and doing 115ish. I eyeballed him first and braked but let the brakes off when the detector didn’t go off and he pinged me then. Had not shed enough. All to casual. I am awake again.
