    Incident type: Serious accident

Emergency services are currently dealing with a serious 2 car accident on the Napier-Taupo road (SH5). This has occured on the Napier side of the Mohaka bridge.
One of the occupants is in a very serious condition with several other with serious injuries.
A helicopter is on its way to help transport the injured to hospital.
It is anticipated that this road will be closed for another hour while the accident scene is cleared. There is no diversion available in this area.
A further email will be sent when the road is open.

True, but for the number of vehicles I see on the road it is lucky we don’t have more accidents. We went out yesterday and the traffic was thick on the ground.

Big ups to the traffic officer that pointed the finger at me when I was day dreaming and doing 115ish. I eyeballed him first and braked but let the brakes off when the detector didn’t go off and he pinged me then. Had not shed enough. All to casual. I am awake again.

Go that man. Good PR to start the year.
