Yes I have a bit more space now Steve, but hopefully my DR could keep me slightly onside with the Zuki fellowship, but alas my desires lie with Blighty.
Its a lonely ride here atm, (well, it was I should say, but now Gary's joined with his sweeeeet orange Speedy) but I feel another pom may be added to the stable, and perhaps another on here may be joining me in the brotherhood of the Union Jack.![]()
Hi TonyW yep not 2bad a loop with various options as NZSarge pointed out
There are a few stopover points and quite a variation of contours
Gas is easy as you can get either end etc - Ypuk or Danevegas or even Pahiatua - the road thru to Nth Wairarapa is all sealed now as well
Could even have a graze at Akitio beach at the local
Well I couldn't get there for the racing but went one better & did the track day with Brian Bernard & Gareth Jones yesterday. Rain threatened & finally arrived about 2pm but by that stage everyone was knackered & happy to call it quits. Not my best day personally, think my rear tyre's a bit out of shape, kept letting go & one time quite spectacularly when Brian was following me, coming out of Dunlop. How I stayed on I have no idea!
New set of tyres on the way but I think I've got some suspension adjustments required too, kept wanting to run really wide if I tried any decent corner speed. Anyone know someone around here who might be able to help?
Dooly, sorry to be a piker but looks at this stage that I might have to miss Taupo next Friday, wife is away for a few days & my youngest goes off on cub camp same day so I need to be at home to despatch him unless some miracle happens (like he decides he doesn't want to go, could still happen!!
)
So just in case, I've registered with Kiwi Track Days on the Sunday as a fallback plan. Kiwi are better anyway, only 3 groups so more riding time so make a weekend of it Dooly & anyone else!
Have fun with your weekend ride this weekend, Paeroa or otherwise. I've got a mate down from Akld, Saturday will be a day in Napier for Art Deco but Sunday arvo could be the go if anyone's around.![]()
This sounds like a good idea. So why dont you guys come up with a date and a plan and put something up on here and see if we can get this ride off the ground. Im sure there will be a good turn out and it will be good to meet all the new guys and gals.![]()
Tis a Yamahahahaha G. Just thrash it like you stole it.Gixxer 4 ever
It really did look very unloved. Specially as it was next to the R1 that the whole crowd wanted to look at. Gixxer 4 ever

Lorenzo World Champ
I see in the paper tonight, that a Brent Neilson of Hastings won this event with a time of 59.91 seconds on a ZX10 !
Congratulations Brent.
Now I need some help from you guys here.
I was sure I did a much faster time than that, years ago in my car.
I referred to the HB Car Club history book and sure enough, on 17 October 1992, my time was 52.50 (FTD)
This is a 7.4 second discrepancy,...... an eon !
Something must be wrong here....any explanations?![]()
