At this stage the family are looking at having the funeral on Friday - so as many people who knew Dave are able to attend. More details when everything is confirmed
I am still totally numb, after hearing about this on Saturday, if you needed any proof that "life isn't fair" thats it right there! (please excuse the pun) As Steve said please keep us informed, I will be there!
Alvin
What a terrible loss, I'll be along in the Cage if the bikers need anything carried etc
The aftermath will be at the Hot Rod Club rooms by the speedway. We have been asked if we would like to assist in providing food (sandwiches, slices, cakes, savouries), or perhaps a monetary donation if you are unable to help in the food sense.
Please let me know via text 0272175925 - as the family have provided me with a contact in Avenue Road, Napier who will either collect or be the drop off point for food.
If you know anyone who is not on here, (members of the Classic Club have been advised also), but knows Dave and would like to be included, please let them know also.
They would like Bikes and Hot Rods as part of the procession.
They have yet to confirm that the venue will be at the Napier Sailing Club, then we all go to the Crematoriam, followed by the ride to the Hot Rod Club. 11am Friday is still unconfirmed, but I will know for certain tomorrow.
Can we have a bank account to send a few $$ to please CH? Cheers
Time is 11am Friday, From the Paper:
There will be a donation box at the Hot Rod Club - any food can be delivered to Carol Spence - 114 Avenue Rd Greenmeadows ph 844 7366
Funeral is at the Sailing Club in Napier - starts at 11 am. Procession will pass by the crematoriam on route to the Hot Rod Club - next to speedway at Meeanee. Everyone on bikes who would like to be part of this - there will also be a large number of Hot Rod Cars present.
It was a beautiful send off and a huge tribute to Dave to see so many whose lives he has touched. Glad the weather changed for the afternoon too. Thanks for everyones help He will be sorely missed
You did well Shirley. It was a tuff start to the day but I can say I was a lot better after the service. It was nice to follow the Buell. You need slightly longer legs LOL Cheers everyone for helping heal the hurt. We will miss you big time Dave but we have great memories and we need to move on in life. Cheers CH for all you did to help organise and give us a chance to heal. Cheers Dave and thanks for being such a great person.![]()
Annual QB 'Tour of the Bay' looks likely to be a Taupo/Annie/Napier/Taupo loop. This Sunday, but don't know what time at this stage. Will post up when I know. Otherwise keep an eye on this thread
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
OK - Qkkid has decided to do the loop clockwise. So plan is to meet at BP Bayview around 9.45.
Will take Seafield etc to Fernhill and over te Annie.

Apologies to those that may not see this post....
This morning's heavy frost has dictated a delayed start by those from Taupo - so meet time is now 10.30/10.45. Everything else is the same
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
