Allow me to tell the full story.....
Yes, me being stubborn,

I wanted to learn to do it myself (how else do you learn). I changed the spark plugs under the watchful eye of one slow tl1000.... (he he he) and all was well. I proceeded to drain the oil, attached the new filter, when one slippery tl1000 (oh, sorry Todd, fingers slipped on keyboard) proceeded to undo the sump bung (can't blame me!). Anyway, when the time came to re-insert it - it would not tighten as the previous owner had obviously had trouble with it in the past and added another washer - hence too much strain on it (or so I'm informed by those who know more than me - yes, it is possible). Craig from Five Star said there are only so many times you can remove the bung due to the alloy construction, before something like this happens. They put in a helicoil (I call it a helicopter - sounds funnier) and its now all fixed
So.... there! I had to pull out the SV and it was fun actually. After the weekend's road toll, it was deemed to be a slower ride, and everyone rode quieter than normal.
