It was probably DOC after all most of those birds were introduced by whitey you know what those fuckers are like they poison the forests with 1080 everyday and dont bat an eyelid the carnage they cause to the birdlife etc is huge!! Most of the baits that are dropped by arial poisoning sit in the tops of the pungas and other bushy trees the birds feed on the insects and drink the water that collects in the pungas (the tops like an upside down umbrella).
Try walking into a forest after an arial drop and listen for the birdsong gaurunteed you wont hear any it's fucken scary. Oh well at least they killed a few possums!! Never mind the thousands of other native species theyve just wiped out!!!! DOC are just as bad as realestate agents and I fucken hate realestate agents!!!!!!

Happened at Sumner beach in Chch a few years ago, rat poison in jellimeat dog food.

Since most of the beach is clearly signposted as no dogs allowed but every evening you see people walking their dogs down there and if you are walking along the beach you are more than likely to step in shit so I can understand why the person did it.

They said on the news the doses in the grain wouldnt effect humans / dogs / cats / etc, so if your kid was stupid enough to eat one he'd have been fine. Its also not actually a poison as such, just a narcotic. It puts them to sleep, a high enough dose means they dont wake up from said sleep.

If I lived somewhere and had a shitload of birds annoying me I'd happily poison them all too. Hell I got so sick of cats shitting on my lawn I now shoot (with an air rifle) any cats I see on my property. Doesnt kill em but it sure makes them fuck off and not come back.

If it was birds on your lawn or an annoyance in your back yard thats one thing...this is a park, not your back yard (otherwise it'd prob have beer cans and a fucked up holden in it) so its not quite the same.

Its easy to never be ceased to be amazed by a whole bunch of things, like numbnut wanks that add pointless drivel to a thread they purport to care little about.
