    Time for a new bike.

I'm in a great mood, having sold my GN125 about a half hour ago for $1680. Now I've got about $1800 to spend, slightly less than planned but what the hey. I'm looking for a 250cc bike (not a single cylinder). I am currently looking at a 1991 gixxer for $1700 and an FXR closer to the $2k mark but I'm open to anything anyone else has to offer.

$1700 would make a nice deposit on a cbr at one of the bike shops.
    Because I can...

Cbrs are overpriced. Not looking at getting into more debt anyway.

and turning it into a motard???? it would be the most fun you could have on a 250 i reckon

    Wow

I took out the GSXR this morning. At first I thought it was kinda gutless, a little disapointed. So I took a look at the rev counter to see I was utilizing 3000rpm out of an available 17000 . A quick gear change, a twist of the throttle and away it went.

Also took an FZR250 out, 1988 35,000kms. I must say I was impressed. Sounded awesome and pulled hard up the hill I was on. Very tempting but it just wasn't worth it for the work it needed. No front side fairings, scrapes from prior crashes, the guy had to tinker to get the lights working (loose connection?) and it stalled on my several times while idling.

I'll get the GSXR booked in for a pre purchase check Tuesday, all going well I'll be joining the next Kiwibiker ride .

I was seriously considering that FXR, but the GSXR and FZR just grabbed me.
