I won't spoil it for any of you who haven't seen it yet, but I will say that stylistically, its definitely a movie where the Director of Photography had a large say in the look and feel. Much like Sin City in that way really.
Watched it last night (also DVD, also broadband...) I agree about Sin City, stands to reason as Frank Miller was involved in both. Wife thought Xerxes was a bit Apophos (StarGate) like.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

If you're going to see it see it on the big screen. Don't go to it with your chick if you want to feel manly afterwards

Narration bugged the shit out of me...didn't even sound like David Wenham. Very little plot/story, boobies for the boys, awesome stylised 'cinematography'. Visually beautiful, but was waiting for the end.

I liked it. The special cartoon style effects and bland colours got a bit much after a while. The Queen was hot. Nothing like our QEII.
I can't say I found it offensive or downgrading towards the Persians. They were shown as an invading army, just like lots of other invading armies over the centuries, nothing worse or better so why all the PC brigade moaning that it was picking on the rug heads?
And how many went out and bought an ab cruncher afterwards..

Saw it again tonight with a mate who hadn't. He made a comment how it was "picking" on the muslims with references to "mystics" and "magicians". He's indian, so I gave him the learn... reading way too much into something that Hollywood has adapted from a graphic novel adapted from an ancient incident!

the script and acting sucked. The movie was a let down, so much potential to be an awesome movie and it was only an average movie (3 out of 5).

"this isnt an army they are my body guards, im going for a stroll"

    LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEE.

get a decent script, focus a bit more on the tactful planning and fighting rather than just have a few hours of killing.

And add a damn sub plot.

Black sheep had more gore than 300. 300 was tame as.
