Can't drink as I'll be driving, but it would be good to catch some life for a change.
Of course! See you for a hot-pool!

    Sweet, thanks.
Having just mentioned this to her, and got a job today, it appears, as if by magic, we now have a little disposable income.
So, seeing as we can't get out on the rideout, and one night will be our limit, which night, and where, is the primary socially unacceptable intoxicant consumption event (piss up) planned.
There's now a good chance we'll drive down, get wankered, kip, breakfast, drive home next day.
Sorry for the short notice, but a rally is a rally, and don't intend to be sober if we can avoid it.

I'm not actually the organiser but hell, who could object to a biker coming along even with no bike. This is going to be a tiny rally, but a rally nonetheless. I am going to my first rally! If the Brass Monkey was in the North Island I'd shoot up but alas, there's that pesky stretch of water. Tunnel! Tunnel!

    Wgtn / Manawatu Riders

After looking at the weather forecast, looks like our best option is via Wairarapa:

    Wgtn: Depart Caltex Kaiwhara' 0930
    Hutt: Depart Caltex Rimutaka 1000

Travel via Wairarapa; probably take gorge or Saddle due to wind and stop for gas and lunch in Ashhurst (Cafe Blue) and meet-up with P/N riders.

Depart Ashhurst: 1300. Depending on weather will decide best options from there.

Looks good to come back via Wanganui on Monday.

Can't Garrantee anything but my money would be on the Saturday Night Piss UP.

I suspect after a decent day riding on Sunday and a ride home on Monday to look forward to Sunday Night will be a little more subdued.

.... back in green and feeling great ....

Speaking of piss ups, etc, there is a little known gem called Club Habitat which is just a few hundred metres down the road from the campsite on the opposite side of the road. It has a great bar, garden bar, brews it's own, open all hours, and friendly!

I may go up tonight, if I feel keen enough. That has the added advantage of avoiding a dreary afternoon of sanding and scraping the damn boat.
Boo HOO!! Why BMW not coming!? You the only person I know! Waaa! I'll just have to drink a bit more then, make me alcohol-sociable.
