    More mindless shits

So what was I doing today instead of fitting my exhaust sytsem back on my VFR but installing a new letter box. Why because some mindless shits did over our 'burb. Unlike the usual letterbox kickers, this time it must have been a trophy thing because they stole the remains giving me no chance to just simply repair it and put it back up again. They have taken about 6 letterboxes in our vicinity so must have taken them away by car as I just can't see the shits walking down the road carrying a pile of letterboxes.

    Whatever gets them off eh!
    Cheers

    Re mindless pricks

Yeah what is that about, last place we lived in got hit on a regular basis.

I'd love to hook a 11kv jumper lead to the box and watch the little pricks fry

F/F yeah fried scrotums anyone ?

Heard of a guy using a paintball gun on some guys doing this kind of shit -only he loaded it with 'tutti-frutti' lollies like you get in little potles at the movies. Hurt like hell and nobody knows what they came from.
They hard part of course is being around when the slack-jawed mouth-breathers are in the act.

There have been some threads on this in the past on rec.craft.metalworking newsgroup, with a numbe rof creative solutions to mailbox baseball used. The usual 6mm steel plate etc. One got a large mailbox and a small one. One inside the other, with concrete filling the 1" gap between the 2. Apparently very effective, judging by the broken bat found one morning. That must have hurt :-)

Love it. Have long thought on a 1/4" plate letterbox, covered in wood-grain vinyl.

Mindless as you say but one of the things that I liked about N.Z. was the comparative lack of this sort of stuff. This country is plagued by idiots who`ll destroy, vandalise or steal anything that cant hit back. Here in Plymouth the company that maintains the bus-shelters,they carry ads which pay for the things, have replace 144 glass panels in a year.Public toilets close after dark as they get trashed otherwise, unless they have an attendant they get trashed anyway. The streets of most large towns/cities are like battlefields at weekends and New Year`s Day sees broken glass and puke all over the place after the previous night`s "festivities".Hospitals now have police officers based in them because of assaults on staff, apparently 5% of N.H.S. staff have been assaulted at work.Added to this we now have gangs of "opressed refugees" from Iraq cutting each other up in mass daylight brawls with Kurds, complain abut this stuff and you`re a racist apparently.Think I`d settle for a few letter-boxes going missing, here you wouldn`t dare use those things, mail goes through a slot in the door, otherwise nobody would get any.

Moko you mention the slot in the door - I would have thought they'd be a risk for mindless shits to be putting stuff through there that they shouldn't, like anything from firecrackers and up. I prefer my box separate from my house.

In our 'burb I get a damaged letterbox on average about once every couple of years. A sign of what has happened to society the world over I am sure and anything happening in NZ is probably just a few years behind the world in that regard.
    Cheers

You're lucky, ours gets wrecked once every coupla months. cant wait for them to reach over to rip the lid off next time tho, the axle grease in the back of the paper slot (where you would grab to open from outside the fence) might wake them up a bit. I was thinking of barbed-wire but thought the scum might call the cops. at least the grease might make them think WTF? and wipe it on their jeans!

Does happen Merv, some London Councils actually have special devices for "at risk" tenants so that if something soaked in petrol and lit is put through the door it wont catch anything else on fire!Used to be a favourite with racist attackers. There was a craze in Newcastle a couple of years ago, kids were running into people`s houses and lifting the t.v...............in front of people watching it.Sounds funny I guess but I`d lay money on the old and the weak being targetted.Yes N.Z. is way behind Britain when it comes to street crime and total stupidity.I remember reading the front page of a Hamilton newspaper saying there had been 5 arrests over the weekend, that would be headlines here for the opposite reason, many dont go into the city-centre at all in the evenings because of the constant threat of violence, same all over the country. My brother used to be an estate agent and he once sold a flat in one of the city`s worse parts to some old lady from London,he told her it was only fair to tell her that it wasn`t the best place to wander around after dark ,she answered,"Son,where I live you`re not safe in daylight let alone after dark".

3.30am saturday morning we had some heavy knocking on the front door - some young guy with skin a bit darker than mine wearing a beanie and a bit tipsy, his first language is a bit north of New Zealand. They got a flat tyre and want a jack - 'no,I don't have a jack' ''we got a jack but no handle, how bout a screwdriver?'' So we give him a screwdriver - hey,he's around at the back door now,the gates are open cause my daughter is out for the 'evening' - I look out the window and see them working under a Previa.I can't stand it anymore,I put on a jacket, put my sharpest thumb action knife in a pocket, pick up the cat for protection and go out and give them a hand.We get the job done and they head for home,me back to bed.

What pisses me off is what goes through my head about this - I live in West Auckland, oooh,it could of been a home invasion,I could of got a wheel brace though the back of my skull, stabbed with my own screwdriver...all this shit to stop me going out and giving a guy in trouble a hand, these bastards have put us into a life of fear where we are too bloody scared to help someone in need,we can't trust anyone,we are defensive and afraid to say ''do yah need a hand mate?'' A few weeks ago some chick came screaming to the door cause some thug was beating her up out on the footpath,I couldn't get her to come inside cause she was too scared of this lowlife - I rung 111 and got the cops to do a drive by on them.

My local engineer is having trouble getting his gattling gun to work - I reckon I could put it to a good field test from my lounge windows.

Saturday morning my daughters car is home and the gates shut.''what time did you get in this morning?'' I ask her....'4.00am' she says....''yeah right''....at least she blushed about it.

Cut one point off several medium sized treble-hooks, pop-rivet them through the eye to the inside of you mailbox just where somebody trying to wrench it out would grab it.
'Everbody' knows they are there to deter birds from nesting in you 'box, right?

a dam good point Merv, some westie jaffs may recall the Glen Eden Video shop fire a few years ago, some young dudes, put some burning rubbish in the video return slot, the building was well invloved in fire when the first fire crew entered, as a result of a flash over, two professional firefighters were exstensively burned( one had to leave the job for a few years), I am proud to say that after a long time away from the service, he returned, his arms, shoulders and back are now completly covered in tattoos to cover the horrible scars..

Still I guess they were only young guys having a bit of fun !
