    Post XP Disk for Mac

Help! trying to install Windows XP on my iMac using Boot Camp...

The only copy of XP I have does not include SP2 - which is required to install the OS. I wont bore you all with the specifics of how to do it...

Does anyone have a disk image or copy of XP with SP2 ? Dont worry about the cd key, I have 'ways' around such things.

    Cheers!

    Disco

needs to be an OEM xp disk with SP2. I have a volume licensed XP but does not have the SP2.

...when I try to boot my mac and install it, it does not recognise the fat32 partition on my macs hard drive - only the larger 200GB partition that has my mac OS on it. Im hoping that the later version of the XP disk will allow support for recognising this extra partition.

All i did was double click the iso on my desktop, it mounted it and i opened the drive. dragged all the files to my burn folder and burnt them to disk.

Was not sure what to call the disk, called the first one "Winxpsp2" second time I tried "WXPVOL_EN". Bootcamp rejected both disks.

Now, ive just installed "alcahol120%" on a xp machine and transfering the iso through my network to the machine, to try burning the ISO that way.

    open apps->utilies->disk utility
drag the iso onto the left hand pain
    put in a blank disk.

then highlight the disk image in disk utility .. then click burn

doing what you did doesn't burn the Master Boot record, or hidden files etc

    Why do you want xp?

If you want to run another os then go for linux... but then have fun sourcing drivers...

    Blah

Well my XP install is all up and running. Did a quick 3DMARK05 benchmark test - scored 6350

Not bad for a fresh XP install running on a Apple iMac !

Installed basic drivers, firewall and antivirus software... next I will dig out my copy of Half Life 2.
