    Question Import from USA.

I'm currently living/working/riding in Texas USA. I'll be moving back home to NZ within the next 12 months bringing with me my 2002 SV650S. I'm about to pull off the brake lines and replace them with some steel/kevlar braded lines but I wanted to ensure I'm not going to run into issues registering and warranting it in NZ as a result.

What do I need to be aware of? Are there any restrictions regarding brake lines in NZ?

There sure are. You need brake lines with the right DOT numbers or you'll end up having to replace them when you go for the WOF and/or VIN inspections. Contact Land Transport at www.landtransport.govt.nz they'll advise you.

What he said, and you might need to change the headlight assembly for one that dips to the left.
    Good luck

You may wanna sell it and get another when you get here...? They're not too expensive and you'll avoid all the hassle of VIN WOF etc..
    There's a few SV650's here...

Trust me you want to take this mans advise.

I came from Texas aswell and it took me six freakin months to get all that shit sorted out. Not worth the effort mate, unless yours is a custom job. Or just pull what mods you can off putting it back to stock then bring them down and mod one you buy here.

I understand you also had trouble converting the indicators from the Merkin way too!

Nah, the other way around mate. Trying to get my VMax indicators up to American standards. The ones it came with are just too damn big.
