On a sightly different tangent, I have a bit of a project on the go which is linked to the Airshow.
Here is the plan, please let me know if you are interested.
I know its technically not all about bikes, but you would get to see a couple on the DVD
Classic Fighters 2007 Re-enactors/Ground theatre DVD
As I participated in the 2005 and 2007 ground theatre section of the Classic Fighters Marlborough Air Show, I thought it would be a good idea to try and get some footage of just the ground theatre section of the show.
I have made inquiries with the company responsible for the official DVD’s for the air show, about a DVD that covers only the re-enactment/ground theatre sections of the show. This would be over and above the air show DVD.
The producers did one of these for the 2003 show, but as sales were very low they decided it was uneconomical for any further air shows. They have advised that in order to cover costs they need to sell at least 50 of these DVD’s and if they can get a commitment for that many, they are happy to put it together.
What they are proposing is a DVD that would contain around 100 to 125 minutes of footage, of just the ground theatre part of the show.
Cost is expected to be approximately $35.00 per DVD with $1.00 postage in New Zealand.
As long as a commitment is achieved for the full 50 units, the DVD would be available for release by the end of October 2007, give or take a couple of weeks. The production crew are currently busy putting together the official show DVD and book, so the time frame is a bit flexible.
What I am looking for is akin to a show of hands from all those who are serious about making a commitment to buy a copy, or more than one if you want.
Here is a link to the official web site for Classic Fighters Marlborough

Also a link to the DVD section of the Classic Fighters Marlborough online shop
http://www.classicfighters.co.nz/shop/dvds.shtml
And specifically the 2003 DVD section

What I propose is that I can collect a list of names and contact details from everyone who is keen. Then once the 50 copy commitment is reached, ask for deposits to be paid so that we have a firm commitment to purchase.
I will keep a running total of the level of commitment that has been given so everyone knows how close we are.
The producers have advised they will get a sample of the footage to me in the next few weeks so I will make that available on line as soon as I get it.
I would encourage anyone who reads this, and knows of someone who would be keen to purchase a copy but does not have access to the Internet, to print it and get it to them as well.
