New to this site, but not new to bikes.

Hi all, This appears to be a great site for Kiwis to talk about their bikes. I only found it yesterday, and apart from a couple of comments on a thread or two, I've been busy reading a lot of the past threads.

You'll see from my profile that I'm a Suzuki fan of old. My main bikes are a 1975 RE5 and a 2004 GS1200ss. I also have a 400 Impulse which I use for commuting to work in the summer.

Other bikes I've had in the past 35 years include a Katana 1100 (wire wheeled model), GSX1100, gsx750, GT750 (2 of), GT380, T250, T125. RM125, TM125, PE250, TS125, A50. Oh yeah, I've also owned the odd Kwaka, Honda and Jawa, but lets try and forget about those.

Welcome Jantar. Excellent selection of bikes over the years. See you on the road some time.

    my own fault really.

Hi Jantar - welcome to KB.

Lovely part of the country you live in (though perhaps a tad cold in winter at times!)

An RE5!! On a ride a couple of weekends ago one of our mates brought along a mate of his on an RE5 - I hadn't seen one for years! This guy was the second owner, has had it for about 20 years. Does yours have conventional instruments or the round thingy? This guy is looking for a round thingy, it originally had one but the original owner replaced it with conventional instruments. Any ideas where he might find one?

A wire wheeled Katana - I remember those! (she says showing her age a bit)

Anyway, this is a great site - enjoy! My hubby has a GS1200SS too (one of the three red/black ones that came into the country).
