I've got 4 days free for riding and I'm thinking a 500 - 700 km day ride might be nice on Saturday.

This would be a good warm-up for those doing the Southern Cross or a good Butt Tester / Bike Tester for any un-initiated ones considering a Grand Challenge.

Options range from going to Tokaanu for a Hot Pool, via Paraparas and back down Desert road with a sample of some Rangitikei back roads, Track or Saddle and the Rimutakas (probably both ways)

Or maybe Herbertville via Pongaroa, Saddle to some Rangitikei stuff and back over the Track.

Any 'rapa-ites could be picked up and dropped off on the way, I'm open to suggestions from anyone that's keen for a ride and I'm happy to ride with anyone, although I do ride a tourer and normally travel at a sedate pace as I'm allergic to fines and demerit points.
