Hmm-I'd give the guys at scooters E motion a buzz .they specialise in hot up stuff for your kinda scoot.
What i'd do is compression test ect to make sure the motor is in good nick
Then put a decent Quality set of tyres on it. Then a pipe.
A bigger carb might help with one of those But I'd be worried about loosing bottom end power.

well the 110 kg is a dry weight im *cough* 87kgs going down slowly
nah i dont have propper boots u think its worth while getting them? and i usally ride around in a bike jacket not leather but its sposed to be as good but its water proof ect, and naw i dont carry heavt txt books and on the rack i ahve a small travel trunk for my gloves and jacket i would be suprised if the rack + trunk = more than 8kgs and as for free way to make it light i dont think so cos ill have to rebuild it using another material like fiber glass?

also all this stuff sounds really good new trans. new tyres, new exaughst bore ect.. but theres only thing i only have like $600 right now :P

If you're going to be looking at getting a motorbike at some point, then bike boots could be a good investment.. They're lotsa little bones in your foot, and the ankle bone is quite close to the surface, so boots in general are a good idea, and m/c boots are even better.

I've got a pair of Sidi waterproof boots which I wear to uni, they don't have toe sliders or anything fancy like that, so they look like normal boots and are comfortable to wear off the bike.

Fabric is always going to be more versatile than leather - waterproof, breathable etc. The reason people still wear leather is that nothing surpases it for abrasion resistance - something important when your sliding down the road on your bum.

Sorry, I was meaning the ghetto weight reduction technique - like peeps who rip the carpet, sound deadening and glovebox out of their car and drive without a spare tyre to reduce the weight.. Not pretty but it'd help..

I guess you could try and fabricate some fibreglass panels for the scoot, though I wouldn't have a clue how to do it..

i just txt'd my brother an he said he could do it no sewat but the fiber glass still costs (hes a boat builder)
also naw i dont think ill get a motorbike i got the belladonna cos its a new versions of a retro vespa so theres no problems old thing seem to have, and i wanted something that was gonna last and wouldnt lose all value so i want to keep it looking good. also i know this dosent really come under this thread but i have a steering lock and a disk brake lock is that enuf to detur ppl from stealing it
and last but not least how heavy is 1ltr. of oil and 4ltr.'s of petrol and how eva much my bike would have in coolant?

Being air cooled your bike wouldn't have coolant, was just speaking generally about calculating a wet weight..

I'm not sure the exact weights, but you could weigh a empty container, then fill it with 1L oil or 4L petrol weigh it again, then subtract weight of empty container from weight of container with stuff in it.. Depends on how keen you are!

Might be worthwhile looking at a cable/chain of some sort, a disk lock is good, but doesn't stop it being loaded into the back of a van. I'd recommend a decent cable/chain and locking it to a post/railing where you can.

Red pen on the monitor gets annoying, after a while.

At least texmo has the defense that he bought an Indian-manufactured Vespa as a hotrod project. I expect that the ancients would have considered him blessed by the gods, and not liable for anything he said.

We should be nice to him as he rides gently into his good night.

I hope you weren't intending that in its original sense, or is there some reason why you have a pessimistic outlook of his life expectancy?
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

I'm afraid I hold little hope for long life and prosperity on the part of anybody wishing to informally drag-race a Vespa.

If he doesn't get accidentally squished by a GTR, he'll be beaten to death by angry boy racers after he scratches somebody's glitter paint with his running boards.

Neither of which could be construed as "riding gently".
