Cheers for the heads-up on this forum Nish, and for yourself and Dan getting this off the ground. I'll be there Sunday - even if my bike is a bit crashed ATM (Do you accept insanely small cars with motorcycle-sized engines?? If not I'll have to flog the Mrs' FXR...)

And to the rtld Persian gntlmn (Hehe - Perl, ROFL.), we hope to see you there, after all, a club is only as good as its members

Was a member of the previous one - in '71...but...bikes were where it was at, back then.....

No probs mate. Like I said the real thanks should go to Dan Walker. We really hope this club gets off to a flying start and only gets bigger. Can't wait till Sunday to see just what the turnout will be like and hoping and praying like hell that the weather turns out perfect (better than the last couple of days anyway). Bring all your mates and sorry Phurrball no cars, no matter how small their engines!!

    Cheers,
    Nish.

P.S. I started off on an Fxr 150, and there are a couple of people with them in the club, and may I just say that they are an exceptional bike to start out on and i loved mine (the extra amounts of love due to the fact that it was my first bike).

I have to be at work in Remmers at 5.00 or perhaps a bit later. But that's just up the road, really, so I might drop by for a little while . I like Mission Bay, the girls in Mövenpick are so cute

    hey guys,
as the weather was very "iffy" the meeting has been postponed to next Sunday, the 22nd of April. I would like to thank all those who made the effort to come along anyway!! Its great to see the commitment and thanks for sticking around with me. Would have been a boring hour for me if I had to wait round for stragglers by myself Hope to see the whole crew there next weekend and anybody else that is interested.

By the looks of things this club is going to be awesome!!!

    Cheers,
    Nish.

If I get a chance I'll come along to the next one, as I just got my learners so I don't have to worry about being pulled over :P

I came here for the rides and comradery (LOL) i dont see what i would gain from joining the AU club, i would lose $3, and with the bike i have and the way i ride i think i would probably scare most of the scooterers! Anyway i used to move their scooters over in the bike parks to fit mine in

Best of luck with it mate, when im back on the road i might just come and catch up with you guys.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

Thumbs up Upcoming Ride on Thursday, the 3rd of May!!

    Hey guys 'n gals.
I hope everyone had a great weekend and the weather was AMAZING! The club is slowly growing and we are getting more interest from bikers so this is great! I will be in-charge of the bike runs as I am the only committee member with a bike and the other 2 fullas are in-charge of the scooter runs.

I am aware that these last few weeks and the next week are going to be hectic for those of us still at uni (holiday was more like a study break). So we had the brilliant idea of having a bike run to a currently un-decided location on a Thursday evening, being the 3rd of May. Hopefully most of us will be temporarily finished with assessments and can come along!

As the location is currently undecided, I am open to any suggestions that you guys may have. If you have a good route or a favourite run then give me a buzz or an email. We will consider everyones' requests.

    Cheers,
    Nish.

P.S. Please do not be shy about getting in touch with me and letting me know if you are not able to make any event. If we do not have enough people that can go then we will just postpone it to a more suitable date!!!

    Lightbulb Try these options

Haha I find it really funny that R6 Kid is going out of his way to make this bike club look like a joke! Mate I have nothing against you (and in saying this I speak on my own behalf, and not on behalf of the club or any members in it) but with an attitude like yours I would be glad if i never saw you or met you. Furthermore if you think you would gain nothing out of this club then you simply DO NOT have to join. I see no point in having someone like you in a club full of bike ENTHUSIASTS.

I also know that $3 is a lot of money. Heck if I had $3 I would quit my day job (or buy 3 sausages if there was a barbie on at uni). So if you really don't think you can afford it then I encourage you to stop posting on this thread and advise you to join a club that is free and save your $3 for petrol.

You also say, and I quote, "i dont see what i would gain from joining the AU club". What I do not understand is what you gain from posting up threads about a club that you are obviously not going to be a part of and so obviously do not care too much for. I find this quite puzzling as I usually just forget about things that do not matter to me as opposed to continually interacting with the subject matter. *shrug* Having said this, I do not wish to hear your justification nor do I care too much as to what the reason might be.

Hope you have a goodnight. Ride safely.

    Cheers,
    Nish.

P.S. I do not mean this post to be hateful but simply informational for R6 Kid. I am merely offerring him/her alternate options for the problems that he/she brought up in his/her post.

^^ Fair enough, but I don't think R6 Kid was being as condescending as you made out, unless there are other posts that I missed (I've only read the one on this page).

Sori mate (R6 Kid), I didn't mean half the stuff I said there. I'm a firm believer in "if you don't have anything nice to say" but it had been a very VERY long day and I let that post get to me. I agree that you have your own opinions and they differ to mine but there are a lot of things you could gain from joining this club, and I would appreciate it heaps if you would refrain from posting up negative comments about the club (a request not a threat).
Would love to have a one-on-one chat with you just to clarify any questions you may have and try to understand where you are coming from.
I would gladly remove the post upon your request (have not done so just as a reminder to me of what could happen if i let stupidity get the better of me).

    Cheers,
    Nish.

    Hey guys,
the 3 committee members (Dan, Phil and myself) had a long chat the other night just trying to get some stuff sorted and this is what we got:

    1) Organising membership cards.
    2) Hopefully have the final discussions with a dealer this weekend and have their backing. As the club grows we'll approach more dealers and broaden our network.
    3) There is a ride being organised on Sunday by a club member so email me or txt me and let me know if you want more details and ill email them to you.
    4) We are having a sign-up post set-up outside the gym coming wednesday and hopefully we'll catch all the bikers that park on Symonds St.
    5) Oh and most importantly we talked about a name change as MADSAM was not sitting well with people. We basically shortened it to SMC (Scooter and Motorbike Club) but if there are any suggestions please bring them forward.

    Cheers,
    Nish.
