I have in front of me ... the motorcycling map of NZ ... I am enjoying laying down the route we will be taking in pootling mode, plenty of things to see and do (just remember most of the seeing is through the apex of corners and doing is the things needed to navigate said corner rubber side down!)
Hellraiser : shhh! I wanted to see the suprise on their faces when we end up in Owhango! Nice servo there for the next blat through the deserted hill country in the wop-wops!
I'm thinking ... lighthouses, I'm thinking ... fush'n'chups down Raglan way ... I'm thinking ... Gissy by way of Whangamata ... burgers there ... I'm contemplating ... Hamiltron for subways ... I'm musing about Kaitaia for some of that nice pub grub nosh ... I was toying with the idea of blatting to Whitianga for a toastie ... tossing up the idea of doing a water crossing on a ferry of some sort ...
Moi? Plan a ride? That's like asking an alcoholic to watch over a bottle store overnight!
Now... where did I stash that 10 litre petrol can?
"I like to ride anyplace, anywhere, any time, any way!"
I don't even know if my poor bike could handle such a long winded road.
But god fricken damn if it doesn't sound good.
I think the furtherest I'd be willing it go for a round trip in a day would be Whangamata, and if need be I could get the keys to our little beach house there where we could park up and rest our feet and arses for a bit.
This looks like it could be loads of fun. Im in for thursday, but need to be back in dorkland for work by 6pm
I'm throwing hints around like mad right now that I'll need thursday off
Well, as I have just finished 6 12+ hour days...
...AND BEEN BLOODY WELL CALLED IN TO WORK TONIGHT!!!
...I am SO going riding Thursday.
GI - lay in a course, warp 9!
(Ah shit, I have to lay off watching my Voyager collection...)

Okay gentlepeople,
I come before you to stand behind you, to tell you of something, which I know nothing about!
On Thursday, the day before Friday - but just after Wednesday, there is a legend of a ride for 250's in the making. This will be of gijoe1313 usual riding proportions and people are free to join in, catch up or leave according to their schedules.
I will say, that those who are riding in the morning, will be riding into the afternoon and into the evening (just the usual thing I do! )
So... now for the plan ... note these ride times are generous to allow for the usual kibbitzing and gerrymandering!
Phase One : Morning Meet-up
BP Autobahn Papakura 9.00am, this will be the jump-off point
Depart BP 9.30am via Southern Moronway to Drury.
Phase Two : The back of Puke - Tuakau
Pootle via SH22 to Raglan for lunch ETA 12 noon.
Depart Raglan to fill up in the 'Tron. Depart 1.30pm
Phase Three : Fleeing Hamiltron Due to Fuel Drive-offs Without Paying
Arrive Hamiltron around 2.15pm. Refuel
Depart Hamitron 2.30pm to head along SH26 to Te Aroha (feel the love!) via Morrinsville (nice, boring and straight)
Phase Four : A turn of the screw
No, we have not been done by ecilops since we are law-abiding citizens!
Arrive Te Aroha ETA 3.30pm to head up to Paeroa to view large World Famous in New Zealand Fizzy Bottles of Stubbie Brown colouration.
Arrive Paeroa 3.50pm
Take pictures of japanese tourists taking pictures of everything.
Phase Five : Twisties! Yikes! Woo-hoo!
Depart Paeroa to ride to refuel in Whangamata via Waihi. ETA 4.15pm
Phase Six : Homeward bound
From Whangamata, it's non-stop to Clevedon via SH25A. At Waitakaruru, people who need to nick off can go via SH25 to SH2 which links up to SH1. Those who are mad will be doing the Miranda/Kaiua/Kawakawa approach.
ETA 6.30pm.
From there, night riding madness abounds! Refuel at Shell servo, have a 30 minute break at Clevedon pub. People at this stage may be inclined to pitch gijoe1313 from a bank due to saddle soreness (softies!)
Night riding will be via goat track circuit, compared to riding this day - it will be short!
Finish : God knows when!
Righto, that's the plan me hearties! Arrr! As usual, people are free to balk and bail out when they like. I will be doing this! Come rain, shine or me on my lonely lonesome! Muwahahahah!
About 350-380 kms all up as the crow flies (kinda short for me, but...meh...I got others!)
"I like to ride anyplace, anywhere, any time, any way!"
Joy!
Well, that's you and me... now, who else?
C'mon you 250 people, are ye in, or are ye out?
Rough idea of final numbers would be handy. Don't want to leave anyone behind at the depart point due to running late etc etc...
See you there!

Hmm, Well that looks like exactly what I'd like to do, however I need to be in auckland cbd by 6.pm.
I'm not familiar with the route, so I dont know if that is doable... You say you've been generous in your times.. how generous?
Perhaps we could meet at 8.30 and depart at 9?
If so,I'm definatly in!
Oh man, so freaking tempting.
Donor you're terrible for excuses!
I sort of know the windies in Waihi -> Whangamata, but have never done them on 2 wheels... they seem pretty harsh and I think for someone like myself I may need a little break and a caffiene hit etc before doing the 1:30 -2 hour ride back home after them.
So if I come I may break off then and go at my own pace back home, or alternatively I can steal the keys to the bach and have a reasonably comfortable place to relax for a coffee before heading out again (this would mean taking longer to get home timewise though).
What do y'all think?
Adapt? Okay, how about we swap bikes half way?
