Yeah I'm worried about making it back in time. I *need* to be in auckland by 6pm..

I might have to turn around at Paeroa to come back the way I've come, or summat like that.

If you leave Paeroa at around 4pm, you will be back in AKL around 5pm...leave Paeroa and head out through Ngatea..you come out just south of the Coromandel turn off on SH 27..
I made it from Paeroa to Dairy Flats BP in an Hour and 1/2 in Feb'...you'll piss in mate

Righto, just been doing a motogp servicing stop for Donor and zeozen. I was so inspired by Donor's first go at an oil change, I had to get around to doing my little ol'Hornet's one! Cue : much gnashing and turning upside down of panoply of possessions to find my oil filter! Done and done, Donor and I got down to washing our precious rides ready for the days pootle ahead.

Sorted. Zeozen came in and we all roundly mocked him for his lack of servicing! Mind you, between us all, we had just enough oil to fill a tall glass! Fortunately we had all the gears and oil glugged in and bikes were happy.

Right - tomorrow, bright and early 9.00am sharp at BP Autobahn Papakura. The route I have supplied has plenty of turning back points so any people needing to be back in Dorkland can do so at strategic points ( I factored all this into the route including generous proportions of time .. after all, who really needs 50 minutes to ride 20kms? )

Check your ride - tyre pressures, indicators, lights, horns, etc.
Check yourself - spectacles, watch, wallet and testicles (no offence to any ladies showing up also! )

Donor and I will be at BP Autobahn Papakura early to get in some nosh and talk general blatherskite around 8.30ish!

And yes, the ride will go on regardless of weather. I am crazy enough to do this and Donor seems to have caught that affliction as well!

I'll hopefully see you there. Something has annoyingly happened at the last minute to maybe cause me to not be able toattend but I am doing everything I can to sort it out tonight

IF I come I may not be able to do the whole thing... and GIJoe I hope you don't mind my nanna speeds again

    Yeah, what GI said! -----^

I have sought the blessing of the weather genie, sacrificed an oil filter to the servicing gods and sold my firstborn to a sub tribe in Zululand in return for them slaughtering several large beetles to one of their lesser weather deities to make sure of reasonable weather on the morrow.

However, if it rains, it rains - the ride will go on!

After replacing the ~100ml of oil I drained from Rosey with 1900ml of Motuls finest along with a shiny OEM filter, the gear changing is remarkably smoother...

She is washed and polished, and the rims are blingier than a blingy thing.

As GI has said, check ya bikes, check ya gear and check ya bits and bobs.

Ladies and gentlemen, see you at the Autobahn 9:00AM tomorrow!

Good thing is this ride has so many flexible elements in it, can chop and change and pootle to where-ever, when-ever! Just turn up, and at each stop, I will loudly announce "Those who need to piss off, piss off now ... (I will point in a vague general direction down a gravelly patch surrounded by sheer cliff drops either side)"

And, the speed will not be excessive either - it is a pootling long tour for those who have never done this experience. For me, it's a normal everyday/night thing

Trust me. I know what I'm doing (Sledge hammer). Pity Donor isn't Dori Doreau

Just did a quick computation (plugging all the places into Wises) and come up with an approximate route distance of 444km from Papakura around GI's route and back again

But on a side note, the picture of Sledgehammer made me laugh so hard. I used to love that show!
