First crash. Gutted! Car drivers SUCK!!

This is a TYPICAL reason y car drivers should ride bikes before being allowed to sit in a car driver seat!!

I was cruising with my friend down Whangaparoa road (north shore).. i was in the slow lane and some B*%$h decided she wanted my lane.. better yet.. where i was!! soo.. without indicating and no warning just swerved my way

I slammed the anchors and lost control and slid on my new cordura!!

While sliding all i can think about was hoping that me and the bike not get hit/run over by a car.. it was freaky adn all happened so fast..

Seriously, my gear SAVED my life.. poor ZXR250 needs new fairings and i'll take another look at it tomorrow morning to c what else needs to be done..

OH YEA!! and the B*%$h made a runner!! didn't get number plate!!

I'd like to PERSONALLY thank FROSTY

(AWESOME GUY!!) for giving me gloves and pair of boots!! (would of had to use my ass skin for my hands!!)

Nope.. was in the process of getting it!! I'm only 21 with learners.. real hard to get insurance.. real $$ as well..

That sucks dude, was you in the persons blind spot?

I prefer staying to the right, and keeping cars towards my left side on mway etc. It's easier for car drivers to head check right than left, as well as mirrors etc. plus its just one side to worry about as the other side is a barrier!

Its called the lead up to winter. new riders need to be cautious as the roads start getting slicker and visibility starts getting worse this time of year, especially if it is your first winter on 2 wheels.

Was the friend you mention pillion or were they on another bike? If pillion, hope they are ok too. If on bike, did they not get any details of vehicle? Glad to hear you're still with us and not waking up this morning in traction...

Even without details, it's still worth reporting to the police.

but gives ya a chance to think what would ya do next time. eg i.d the car etc. shame that no one else got the details for ya. bugger.

They were on bike.. but they were too stunned seeing the smoke and me slide that they stopped and tried to help me and pick up motorbike parts in middle of road and ofcoarse try get motorbike out of the road.

It all happened real fast; when i thought of looking for car driver it was too late.. but yea.. Def something to look for (god forbid) next time.

If uz think its worth it then i will report it to police.. not sure if its much help though..

Report it....... the car took you out.

The driver may have even reported the accident themselves... (Tui)

The car will have damage or paint scraped off it.

Do you know the type of car and the colour of it?
All that helps.

There maybe a witness around who spotted the accident happen.
Do a letter drop to all the homes, near the accident scene asking for witnesses to contact you if they saw it happen.

Main thing is that you are ok..... and your bike can be repaired.

Definitely report it to police, without delay.
If you can give any details about the vehicle, colour, model etc then make sure you do that too. Take your mate along as a witness to the details and lay the complaint. DO IT TODAY!!!
Really glad to hear you are ok, bikes are much easier to fix than riders.
BIG UPS to Frosty (again) for giving you some gear that saved hours of surgery and weeks of recovery, now you know why we all say it is essential to have and wear.
In analysing the accident, you might want to think about a couple of things.
Consider your road positioning just before the incident, was it the best place for you to be?
Your braking technique, was it your best work or 'panic' braking?
Your road awareness or spatial awareness, was your mind on the job?, had you noticed any signs of the driver doing strange things earlier and not given them enough consideration?
The best/most expensive lessons come from these situations, make sure you learn as much as you can from it.
