I tried a large syringe years ago and the rubber rings on them get rooted by the oil and they jam. Best bet is buy a one of them long measuring beaker things. I use a plastic one graduated up to 500ml.

Or go to payless plastics & get a small squeezie bottle & some plastic tube - about $5.

There's a place here in Chch that hands out needles to all the drug addicts for free. I bowled along there one day and scored a couple of 50ml syringes no problem. Got some funny looks when I said what I was going to use them for.

One often wondered what was needed to do fork oil. Now one knows. A large syringe. Bless.

Yeah, the vet's have the bigger ones they use on the Geegees

I got a thick glass on glass one from a lab supplier.
Glass on glass means there is an exact fit between the inner glass and the outer glass- meaning no rubber seals to jam or perish.
If you want something that will do the job well for a lifetime, give that a go.

It cost $27 10 years ago so will be double that by now probably.
It has measured thinners straight out of the can, fork oil, fish oil injected straight into frame tubes and anything else I can throw at it. Glass is not affected by strong solvents or chemicals, I even used it to dispense 85% caustic acid when making a home brew ali cleaner

Hmm---for measuring fork oil you need a measuring beaker like 500ml
That said I did see mr Ohlins running round the pits at the nationals with 5ml syringes filled with various weights of fork oil
