    Easter Saturday Ride

Bonez, Cowboyz, chancey, u4ea, roger doger (for a while), 86gsxr and me (and another chap whos name i cant remember (sorry mate)...i think thats everyone

I'll let cowboyz do the full report (since he's so good at it) but suffice it to say weather was good...just cloudy in the morning but only got better as the day wore on
went out to ashhurst to meet up with the first few chaps, then down through aokautere and through to shannon to meet up with u4ea and chancey, then back the way we came, over the track, back roads all the way to Masterton and then back up the main road (with a slight deviation) and back over the track.

86's throttle cable decided to give up in the middle of nowhere so he was two up with cowboyz for about half the ride and will be picking it up with a trailer when he can, other than that a bloody good ride! luckily it snapped right next to a bloody nice bloke's house and he was kind enough to let us stash it there until it can be retrieved....

ill stop now and let cowboyz finish this....just wanted to upload the pic of the bikes who actually made it to masterton and hung around for a coffee, etc...

*** added another photo so cowboyz doesnt feel left out since the big greenie was waaaay of in the background in the 1sst one ***

Fuck thats a sexy bike on the end.. whose is that then? No Bonez.. the OTHER END!

I'll get the job of writing a report cause ya know I love it.

Got home from work this morning and run up to Storms place to see if he was planning on riding today. He reminded me that he only rides twice a year and we used up one of his rides last weekend so he is saving his next one for later in the year. Fair enough. (he also added something about being nice to his wife and taking her to wellington or something but I gave up listening by then)

Off to Mobil to find 85gsxr and Bonez waiting patiently. Filled with gas and Yod made an appearance. Good. Off to Shannon to meet up with the girls. Real nice run down to Shannon. Good pace and the bike was feeling good. Down in Shannon found out that Chancey had the lack of fuel thing going on with her bike so had U4ea's son? running round getting fuel for her. Sorted that out and off to the pahiatua track. On the way GarryH was on a wander so he turned round and followed us. Met Roger Doger at the bottom of the track and he showed us the fast way over the hill. Poor 9 got a real good workout but just couldn't get it to go round corners fast enough to keep up. Oh well. Fuel stop in Pahiatua and everyone caught up again.
Half way out to masterton Roger doger left us and headed home. GarryH showed some speed and disappeared. So that left Chancey, U4ea, Yod, 86gsxr Bonez and I weaving through the back roads. Had a real good groove going with following Bonez and 86 behind me and yod following up and all over a sudden 86 and yod disappeared. Couple of km later I thought that didnt seem right. Very unusual that 86 is not right on my tail so better go looking. Found 86 shaking his head puffing on a ciggy. broken Throttle cable and the poor suzuki wasnt going anywhere. I think 86 just wanted a ride on the zx9. We did find a helpful farmer who stored the bike for us and we were off again.

Now if you want to change the handling of your bike heres a tip. Throw 100kgs on the back, add a tank bag and then ride across a thin coating of shingle. That was an interesting trip into Masterton.

GarryH was waiting at the Mobil for us. Looked like he had been there a fair while too but we were all looking for coffee. We went up the road for a cafe and I think GarryH had been waiting too long cause he didn't stop but the rest of us enjoyed a chat and coffee. I might just note in the photo I pulled up first. No one wanted to park next to me! Snobs!

Trip home was a bit better 2up. Getting used to having 86 on the back and come up the highway then over the track and back down to Levin.

Great day out. Bike was fantastic. Company wasn't too shabby either. Cheers guys.

well that was a fantastic day .. love them roads out the back of Pahiatua, was really in the groove and some damn nice sweepers, just had to dodge a few sheep out on the road .. shingle that was not signposted, & the odd spot of cow dung

spent most of the time out the back which was fine .. but the boys waved u4ea & me on so we was off .. go to a main intersection & this time it was us girls chilling for 20 odd mins ..

Figured something had gone wrong but decided it was best to stay put til someone came & told us wot was wrong...

yup unusual sight seeing 86 being pillioned .. ohh yeah Al you have felt that sensation once before ... (manfield superbikes )

once the food situation was sorted & chilled out sitting round talking, started feeling real tired .. so a quiet cruise back home .. rescue mission will be tomorrow poor suzie having to keep company with them dirt bikes .. how degrading .. mind you guess she gonna tell them a few stories ... but then they could corrupt her & let her know how much fun in the dirt could be ....

watch it 86 .. she may never recover !!!!!!

I didnt think of that. With the gsxr750 sleeping with the dirtbikes overnight it might feel inclined to try out cross country riding next time out........
