As for the infringement notice, it just says "overtook on right at intersection, unsafe manouevre" $150 fine. The accompanying letter says the investigation has been completed and that the file has been submitted for actioning.?
I even got a phone call from Francois (the 4WD driver) to see how I was doing which was nice.

Still no word on the bike but didn't expect to hear for another week or two, and it doesn't make much difference to me anway in my current state.
Work is getting pretty busy at the moment so I'm keen to just get my head down and tail up and forget about all things bike related for a while, and maybe see how I feel when spring/summer starts rolling around again.
So hopefully this is the end to the story.

Sure is, especially at this time of the year. Myself, I'd be up for it. But I realise that lots of riders like to have regular breaks, which I'm also amenable to, so maybe a shorter day route is in order. Maybe up to Kaikoura via SH1 then onto the scenic inland route to begin the trip back...

    Why not the Beaumont loop?

Then you'd have heaps of people coming along at least for half the ride

I'm keen too...have to be back in town for the Canty vs. Blues game, the Mrs said..."let's go to the rugby". Good girl.

What's the plan? Hanmer would be a good little run as suggested.
If it ain't broke...fix it till it is!!
