New license plates

Hello,

Due to whatever reason, the license plates on my car are pretty smashed up and ugly looking (I think people chew on them when I'm parked). Where would I go, or how would I go about getting new ones made with exactly the same characters (and therefore not have to re-register)? I don't expect this should cost too much, otherwise I'll be positive and assume the ugly plates make me look more beautiful.

I think you can order new ones from the Post Orifice for about $8 each. If not, them something just as simple and cheap somewhere else like VINZ.

bike ones are 8.80 each it's double roughly for car ones,\

good if you loose a wof or sumthing get a new plate nad they just update ur wof sticker,

and ive had many a plate fall off

Pop into an LTSA agent and pay $15.20 to get new plates. You just need to hand your old munched ones back in.

Nope, they usually have a stash sitting behind the desk. Its a whole new plate number and they issue you new rego stickers as well.

If they are Govt plates, they usually recycle the old ones, they don't reprint them again unless you want to pay big bucks from what I understand.

Im just drawing on my experience when I had to replace my bike plates and MissSnipers Car plates.

Funny enough,I can actually sell you a "Park Asistance System",probably a good idea if they normally park by ear!!

Correct - you can't hand over your old plates and get a new set with the same registration number on them unless you pay to have it put on personalised plates. We lost one of our car plates so took the other one in and they issued us with a new set - with different numbers of course.

But it doesn't involve re-registering at huge cost, they just cost about $12 I think, and then they send out a new set of papers with the new plate number on them.

If you don't want to hand over your old plates, just tick the "Lost" box, make up a reason why you lost them, and nail them to your shed walls as a memorial.
