West Road hazard!! (Clevedon, 19 April)

Almost low sided than high sided today during a short ride heading towards clevdon along west road.

Im guesing a truck/trailer carrying a full load of sand lost some of its load heading up West road... there's sand all over the road around a couple of the corners. I was doing below average speeds when i hit it but i was pretty sure it was all over.

Take it easy guys over this road in the near future.

Cheers for the heads-up and well done on staying upright.

Have you reported this to the council to get it cleaned up?

Last time I went Clevedon roads it was clay after a heavy rain, since then I seem to steer away from this area. Ride safe!

Easiest thing to do is to report it to the cops. They will then talk to whoever's responsible and get it cleaned up. According to the text of some law I was reading the other day on here, everyone has a legal responsibility to either clear up any potential hazard or report it to the cops.

Funnily enough, that law never seems to get applied to Transit NZ or any of their contractors, who create half the hazards due to their negligent practices.
