A little pootle around the lower half, east and west to south of the NI!

Righto, planning a nice long pootle that will satisfy even my wanderlust meanderings! (For a while at least!)

Here is a point to point (with generous estimate of distances) itinerary :

Takanini to Waitukarunui (via Kaiaua/Miranda) 70
    Waituarunui to Whangamata 150
    Whangamata to Tauranga 70
    Tauranga to Mourea 60
    Mourea to Awakaponga 40
    Awakaponga to Whakatane 20
    Whakatane to Opotiki 40
    Opotiki to Te Araroa 100
    Te Araroa to Gisborne 110
    Gisborne to Wairoa 80
    Wairoa to Napier 90
    Napier to Hastings 20
    Hastings to Waipukurau 40
    Waipukurau to Eketahuna 130
    Eketahuna to Masterton 40
    Masterton to Martinborough 40
    Martinborough to Wellington 80
    Wellington to Waikanae 70
    Waikanae to Levin 30
    Levin to Palmerston North 40
    Palmerston North to Fielding 20
    Fielding to Marton 40
    Marton to Wanganui 90
    Wanganui to Raetihi 70
    Raetihi to Taumarunui 70
    Taumarunui to Stratford 100
    Stratford to New Plymouth 70
New Plymouth to Eight Mile Junction 130
Eight Mile Junction to Te Kuiti 10
    Te Kuiti to Kawhia 60
    Kawhia to Te Uku 40
    Te Uku to Tuakau 90
    Tuakau to Takanini 20

All up, about 2130km I'm looking forward to this! Doing the fuel equations and making a list of gear to pack (just the essentials, will do the warehouse clothing thang and have an accomodation guide! )

Timings to work out later! But at least thats the plan Now this is a pootle! Good practice for my South Island invasion!

Poor little ol'Hornet, will have to give it the big go-over and buy it lots of new parts and bling!

How will you be carrying your stuff?
How long do you think this will take?
Will you be staying in Motels or Camping?
Will you have loads of fun?

    Just a few questions

I've been doing up an Excel spreadsheet putting all the details and making sure of milage. Adding notes into it as I research about servos and other essential services!

Even preparing a packing list of it all - I will be travelling fast and light, tank bag and rear tail bag is all! Using the warehouse as my washing machine and a tent to sleep under if need be! Will bring essentials and the usual paraphenalia. I'm aiming for three days (four for sidetracking distractions!)

So I can flash-pack or do the tenty thang if need be. Fun? I wouldn't be countenancing such a mad-cap scheme unless it was fun! I'm just having fun working out the logistics and details of it all!

    Saddo I am!

And thank you for your questions, service will be returned to normal soon!

Now that's going to be one epic pootle! Make time to take some photos on the way around.
When's the big trip happening? You're going to be one worn out rider by the time you get back!

I'm planning for Tuesday of next week to begin my little journey to there and back again I will take plenty of photos ... and I'm seriously thinking of bringing a pillion along ... a little yellow fellow that has been known to make guest appearances at random odd occasions!

And yes, I will be doing this regardless of rain, wind, shine or hail (snow may be a bit of a prob )
