    Dyno Jet Kits...

Due to an international incident (I've alerted Winston) and language problems I've been sent a Dyno jet kit for the FZR400 instead of a factory rebuild kit...... Drat - supplier went d'oh but hey it was pretty affordable...

Now this bike was running like shite and all the stuff I've done is in the fzr400 exup thread (shoulda been a blog I guess) and I'm NOT repeating it here...

Bikes between 40 and 50,000km and I'm not planning on keeping it forever so - whack in the kit or sell it on trademe? Yeah - they wear quickly but thats not an issue for me..

and Big Macs look like they do on TV...

seriously .. get with Lou over at AMPS and have him hook ya up with a few options

+1 jet size for custom 4 into 2 exhaust

+2 jet sizes for 4 into 1 exhaust

+1 jet size for K&N filter (single inside airbox)

+1 jet size for drilling out the bottom of the airbox

+2 jet sizes for both single K&N and drilled airbox

+2 jet sizes for individual filters

+2 jet sizes for no muffler (open header)

+1 pilot jet size for every 3 main jet size increase

Add up all the jet size increases and subtract one. (Remember they go in steps of 2.5 for each jet size)

Under a mismatch condition, like individual filters and stock exhaust or 4 into 1 header with stock filter and air box, subtract an additional 1 jet size.

Check plug color often, sync carbs after each jet change, make sure the floats are set correctly, and seriously consider purchasing a Color Tune.
Make sure your carbs are in perfect working order before making jet changes.

Decrease main jet size one step per 2000' above sea level. Decrease pilot jet every 6000' above sea level

    Ok - um thanks...

Now seriously - I have serviced and cleaned the carbs as an initial once over just to determine that the diaphragms (wot a stupid word to try and spell) are all OK and there is nothing glaringly wrong with them.

The bike will run stock EXUP and new air filter but i wanted to replace needle and needle jets in the carbs and i've ended up with needle jets (yamaha) and a Dyna jet kit (d'oh) instead....

The question is - should i go with the stage 1 kit (stock filters / pipe) or just leave it all...

    Cheers
