    Ducati and 1200s in WSB

Here's an interesting link to an article discussing why Ducati want to go the 1200 way in Superbikes.

    http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2007/...enicaliint.htm

It must be costing them an arm and a leg! It also clarifies that there ARE two sets of rules in WSB: one for the V twins, and one for the IL4s.

Don't know what you think, but it seems if everyone was playing on a level field it would be a better situation. I can't see why Ducati shouldn't just use the 1098 rather that a 1200 though.

Yeah, read that before. I suppose it makes some sense running a less tuned engine. Though they'd probably get an indirect benefit with drive out of the corners again...

I call it Retribution. How many time in the 90's did the jappa's complain about having 250cc less?
Why not go back to the old ruling then if Ducati are going to cry. 750 ilf's and 1000 twins. Go back to the good ol' days when the japa riders had to be cut throat and live on the edge.
Mabey im just bitter because all the BEAR's boys get up my nose with their high and mighty BS.

Still a difficult rabbit to pull out of the hat. I mean how do you convince people that Ducati are struggling when they continue to perform so well. Fine - Troy Bayliss is an enigma, a freak show, but then again Xaus was unstoppable in the last event and he's not even on a factory Ducati.

Yeah I think this is ridiculous after all those years of favouritism Ducati had in WSB and now they are squealing wanting it all again. They should just build a road going 1000cc 4 and enter that because they now have a connection to the 4 through MotoGP. They just seem to have too much pull with the series organisers.

They already have built a road going 4 cylinder. Remember the limited edition 990cc motogp rep??? Just build a few more of them so it can be homologated for superbikes. Then they'd have a decent piece of machinery.
