You're a sucker for punishment. Why leave one try hard socialist country for the mother of all socialism? Fine if you want a simple life working for the government living in a shoe box, but if you want to achieve anything remotely great for yourself and you family you'd have more of a chance here on fantasy island.

France sucks. Lazy arse bunch of freaks.

Have you contemplated running him over with a stolen Mercedes?

    Surgically remove his hands.

It's not like he's ever going to work or be productive or anything so there's nothing to lose.

    Just shoot the fucker.

Grahameeboy. I think you would find the sentence is not irrelevant the moment you heard the killer continues to drive round drunk or drugged. I think you would be telling the parole board to keep him inside out of recognition that your action could save society from peril at least for a limited time. If you have a say on when its open season on kids and grans (like my mum) don't see you taking that responsibility lightly and swinging the jail gate open while you offer the guy a beer and best wishes.

The longer they are kept behind bars the better for all roadusers including your little girl. Those strong sentences elsewhere are shown to reduce impaired driving violence. If for no other reason than that they keep what are usually remorseless recidivists off the street. In that time lives are being saved.

The good thing about the States with their long sentences for car killers is that they do not have 7x drink drive killers like we do. Cos its hard to drive impaired in jail.

The Mercedes idea I stand accused of having as a serious allegation has been made against me. Lawyers letter landing on fantasising cops desk soon to tell him to stop the defamation. I would not go that far but I sincerely hope that if there is a next time that only one particular victim will suffer.

I firmly believe in Karma as I've seen a few a**holes go down all in good time. I once waited 20 years to see karma hot the worst and it hit good.

I kinda meant relevancy to the fact that it does not change my personal grief whether the sentence is 5 months or 5 years............it would not be something that I would bang myself up about but you are right that one has to consider other potential victims.

I would not have a beer but would not bear malice towards the offender. What's done is done and it's more important for me to deal with things and move on with life as I would not want the offender to affect how I view life which sadly some people do trying and spending years to get what they feel is justice.

But at same time I undertstand where you are coming from.

In the Herald today it says that this guy's Family had been under the care of Social Services since he was 2 which links up nicely with the Baby / Mother thread which became a battle with opinions divided.

Traffic penalties - There's a valid reason to quit a country if I ever saw one.
