    Promotions evening - guest speakers

Cliffhanger Promotions want to raise the profile of the Motorcycle Sprints and in particular, the Cliffhanger Hillclimb.

A suggestion has been made to hold a promotion evening in order to discuss:

    - outline future strategy of these events,
    - sponsorship issues,
    - event assistants (marshals etc).

We are in the process of inviting a couple of guest speakers along as well for some light entertainment. (Gareth Morgan and Aaron Slight)

A light supper would be provided as part of the entry fee, although liquid beverages would have to be paid for by attendees.

Before launching into this, I would like to get your feedback so we can determine whether this promotion evening would be viable.

Please indicate by voting in the poll.

You should get Gareth to sponsor the event/hill climb
Where are you going to hold it ??
What are you wanting to achieve with the evening,as in,do you try & get sponsors along,or is this an evening with guest speakers,a meal & you want competitors & supporters to be there & discuss options??
Next question is where do you want the hill climb event,as a spectacle to be in say two years??
Deano give me a ring if you like,I have plenty of questions/options & maybe answers

    Question

    Hey Deano,
Do you have to be a rider that participates in these events? I like to support anything Motorbike related but am not a rider that would participate because I lack the skills or the appropriate type of bike.

    Cheers CSL

He certainly has plenty of dosh and I believe he has started a trust so that is one option we will explore.

    Lower Hutt/Wgtn area.

We want to achieve several things at the evening - cover charge will provide some moneys to cover the hirage of the room and supper, speakers (if willing) will add weight/support to the event, we might also invite potential sponsors (free of charge) to show them what we are all about (will screen some video footage of the hillclimb also).

In two years we would like to see 40 entries (we has 28 this year), some top NZ and Aussie riders competing, televised coverage, sponsor/merchandise tents and a mini rally during the weekend where competitors and supporters can stay and socialise.

If you have some good ideas perhaps you might like to come along to the next meeting in Lower Hutt on 15th May (venue to be confirmed) ? All input is welcome.

take it a step further, cut the hicks out that have acheived meagre results last few years. take over. recruit a team of like minded PROFESSIONALS that think in a modernish like minded way that dont get laughed at when they approach bike shops, riders, press,

    DENO FOR HILLCLIMB PREPSOLDENT

in a NON JUDGEMENTAL WAY i can see why a lot of fast sponsored riders fail to appear just by a ten second squiz at the guys running it. they mean well, i think, im sure they'd be happy to hand it over if there intentions are for a succesful hill climb to be run next 10+ years

i wouldnt come to the meeting cause im a hypocirtical jew. thanks for reading.
