    Radar detector help

not sure if this the right place to post. but i would like a radar detector, mainly beacuse on the open road its great to take the corners reasonably hard and in order to do this i need to break 100 at almost every bend.but i dont want some crappy thing that doesnt pick up the radars and encourages me to speed when cops are around! so what type should i be after?dont want to spend much either,im a poor school kid at the moment still

My understanding is that none of them are full proof, and dont work when the gun thingy is pointed at ya anyway.

There are plenty of people on here who have them tho, I'm sure they'll be more informed than me. I subscribe to the, dont speed, dont get caught theory.

I'm taking the piss bro, go fast quite a bit, if there's a dectector fitted guy with us, they are usually up front. They do come in handy, but since they aint always right, it still plays on your mind. They will inevitably save you a ticket at some point, especially on a 250, where out running the fuzz is a tad trickier.

If you cant see around the corner do you really want to be doing over 100?

The coppa's flick their machine off and on these days, enuf to catch you but of course your detector wont pick it up when its off

don't wanna get caught? don't exceed the speed limit?
I only posted this because of the global economic crisis

do a search on here for 'Bell', 'valentine' or 'radar detectors'. theres plenty of advice. http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/se...archid=2195330

    • they do save you money
    • they're not fool proof
    • they don't save lives
    • you do end up as front runner, when riding with friends
