I'm still not sure what I'm doing, but if I'm going for a ride then I'll be at Rimutex at 10am. Dare I say it, but the weather looks best over in the 'rapa...

Hehehe HSV and here I was thinking a trip over the hill would get an unkind reaction from you.

That's the cool thing about this format, the group who turns up decides where to go. See you in the morning.

And to Jim2, sorry mate, I woke up grumpy and was a prat

Hey no worries. No bad feelings. I've got a temperature (I should never have kissed merv last night) so I might be confined to bed tomorrow anyway. Been in bed all day though, so I'm hoping I've thrown it off. That's my excuse for being a prat.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

I was set on coming this weekend - to cloud everybody's vision with 2 stroke smoke , but it turns out I have to be at work this Sunday.

So all I can do is wish you all a good time

Seems a little illness going around ... stay in bed and get well .. careful not to pass it to the kids - Nasty

    No whimps in this camp

Well to be fair ... when we left home and it said "light showers" which in reality was rain.

Four hardy KBers, made of sterner stuff - Nasty, Quallman1234, Hawkeye and The Grub all headed off to the Akatarawas ... because we could.

Well the weather at Rimutex was dryish but not much past the Akatarawa Cemetry it rained ... then we went into cloud ... it still rained, but just a very light fine one. The Reikorangi Cafe is a great place to stop for hot thick pumkin soup and coffee then home via SH1 and Grays Rd.

Cool day, great ride. It really isn't as bad as they say. You just go slow and take your time - it is an amazing part of the country

Oh, nearly forgot ... watch out for the 1km of pea metal just south of Reikorangi. It's easy to see, shouldn't catch anyone by surprise coming from the south at least since you're not going that fast anyway.

If you were in America you could call them biscuits with jam and cream.

Sorry I couldn't make the ride.

Have enjoyed that cafe in the past - kinda in a different world to the usual places we go.
    Cheers

Have just looked at the pics of the 'rapa this morning - like a totally different weather world to where we were. I guess they're not much more than 15nm line of sight from where we were in the rain and cold temps. Bugger.
