Strip the old tape off, and as you go, retape each side of every junction point. From there it's easy to strip out the dead weight, and then you can reassess. Sing out if you get stuck.

Was going to ask on here who trashed their VFR. '94 was the last year of production right?

Would make a cheap track bike.

Yup, maybe it was imported in 95/96? That cour scheme is 1993 though. Looks too good to be a track bike!

Nar still here. Selling because of the costs involved. Planning on some traveling next year. I won't get out of the airport if I keep spending money on a bike I'm likely to crash repeatedly..

You could enter it in the vic clubs new post 90s carb f3 class. You may win as I don't think there are too many entrants yet.

completely off topic and off bike but some of you may know - have a cbr600f2/f3 (mostly f3 now but f2 frame carbs and airbox), have just had the suspension re-gassed and oil replaced, been offered a ohlins rear shock for 475USD, barely used, is it worth it??

What is the condition of the shock ? Barely used doesn't mean buggery if it's 20 years old.

Is it set up for your height/weight/riding style ? US dollars ? How much is shipping going to cost ? How much will it cost to get it set up to suit you here ?

Transformers, more than meets the eye.

This is it here: Though I think he may have just sold it to someone else (despite emailing a shipping quote yesterday!!) the f3 bike came out between 1995 and 1998, this was on an ex race bike, its set up for 150-185lb, I'm 65kg, so not too far off, 475 was including shipping, I put the shock into my current bike, should just be a matter of sorting out the preload to suit my weight yeah?

    Cheers

It MIGHT not be far off. Depends on what the damping valving is set up for ? If you intend it to be a road bike, it's probably too hard in the spring department.

However I am no expert. It's almost voodoo and dancing around fires to me.
