Unless there are any objections from other members, I see no problem with this.

Sorry. Enthusiasm is one thing, actual ownership of a VFR is the crux of the matter.

Shoo you vulture, you ain't getting one of them Streetstockers have been waiting for me to give up the project one and my running one since I'm upgrading, but I'm enjoying the project (and I will sell eventually) and I want to keep the running one. It's too good to sell for what it's worth

I thought the club also included future/hopeful owners and fans of this range of machines? Kiwibiker does not excluded those without bikes from joining. The VFRPS is sounding very elistist right now, quite dissapointing really

Can't be a member who preserves the good name of VFR, without having one.
Associate membership... I like this idea. Perhaps available to those who have placed bids in an auction to obtain the nirvana of motorcycling... a VFR!
This proposition will be discussed at committee level.

Good to see that Marks bike is being assembled at the moment!

    See above.
Associate membership to those who demonstrate an active pursuit to ownership. Full membership to owners. Can't be fairer than that. We do not intend to be "snobs", merely supporting the marque and doing our best to perpetuate the wonderous VFR machine.

That sounds better. Much in the same way as someone who likes bikes isn't yet a biker untill they ride

Still waiting eagerly for those photos I'm meant to be getting of that RVF. Just wondering if you think this is a good deal: 1995 RVF400, 46000km's, needs some plastic welding and new paint, left footpeg bent in (think I can fix that easily, do it all the time on the RG), had the ignition pulled out when it was stolen (and recovered, this isn't a stolen bike ) and theres some other broken parts but seller has replacements ready to be installed so everything is there, it needs re-vinning, and a reputable member of Kiwibiker test rode it and thinks it's sweet. I've been told the seller wants around $5000 but haven't had a price confirmed

Will tootle off and have a squizz on tardme at it.(it IS on tardme???)

I bought my bike sight unseen off of tardme. Just phoned a local (to the seller) bikeshop and asked them to do an appraisal on it. They couldn't find any faults.
Reg/rec, and battery clapped out shortly after I bought it, but things are difficult to diagnose and we all take a chance when purchasing older machines.
Hopefully it will all work out in the end for you.

theres a company that does it "biketranz" from memory, i think it would be like 150 bucks ish? they stick it in a truck, all they do is ship bikes, so the truck has all the tie down points etc.

ring them up for a price.

yeah i've talked to them before but they quoted me $340 for dunedin to palmy and this is even further so it'd be pushing $400 i think....probably no more expensive to fly down and ride it back including gas and ferry ticket
