on the bottom of my rear shock on my vfr400 there is a small tube/hose which looks like an overflow....what is it?

If practive makes perfect, but no bodys perfect then why practice?
Possibly posting a picture may help you get more replys, off the top of my head i can't think of anything unless you are getting it confused with a carb overflow or engine breather?
Does that shock have a shroud around the area were the damper rod would normally be exposed?
I've got a CBR250 shock that what would appear to be a little breather hose connected to a small plastic fitting. My reasoning is the shroud/ housing has quite an effective seal and the action of the shock working would require a breather to prevent vacuum/compression effect due to the space between the damper body and the bottom end of the shock opening and closing. The hose would just be going to somewhere on the bike less prone to ingress of water and shit.
That's what I reckon anyway.
hmmm yeah could be...ill try get a pic in the near future so you can see
