Damn fine looking bike you have there, more like a piece of art that's designed to be ridden.

I'll keep my ears open as I also live out west, maybe have a sound off competition & annoy the local westys with our ear splitting machines

I think my neighbours have gone off me- warming up the 996 has ruined a perfectly good relationship between me and my fellow neighbours (the buel is just about as loud eh - led had the firebolt and it sounded like it was eating itself alive when it idled

. the 996 was running the other day before a ride, I gently eased it out the garden path (as being true westies the drive was parked up with too many cars) and two builders from the site next door were standing in front of the letter box staring at me and the bike grinning with their arms folded... (all i was thinking was don't stall now baby as that would be one hell of a come down from this funny little scene...) i couldn't resist riding completely obnoxiously down the road in first so they'd be able to hear me all the way to the te atatu town roundabout...

lmao... Bet that made there day

The buell is very aggressive in the throaty v-twin sound department. With the hyper charger sucking away & the aftermarket race pipes blasting at the road, it turns a lot of heads & raises a few fingers

I'm sure your as bad as me in the engine braking department.... "what are breaks?" love the noise, come in hard & fast while chopping down

    Mmmm nice.

BTW, shouldn't the clutch be making all the noise when its out, not in?

I'm pretty sure it's making the noise in the right place because its an almost brand nu cluch!it's a slipper clutch which is a first for me and it's taking a bit of getting used to driving slow anytime i hit traffic or road works as it just wants to bolt!
