SPman, mstriumph & zadok head South

At 11am on a wonderful Friday morning (20/4) we left Armadale for a small town called Augusta on W.A's south coast.

SPman - Yamaha XJR1300; mstriumph - Yamaha FZ1; zadok - Triumph Tiger (wife pillion).

We headed down the Sth West Hwy and turned toward the coast just south of Pinjarra. Saw one kangaroo bound across the road about 200m in front of me, just before we hit the Old Coast Road. Stopped for lunch at a servo in Bunbury before heading to Margaret River for another break. Cut in to the wonderful Caves Road which is 210km long. From Margaret River, we had about half that to do. Full of really nice sweeping curves as you head through vineyards and forestry. Arrived in Augusta in the late afternoon after a great ride. Total for me 316km (SP & ms had another 120km to add to that, getting to my place) The Tiger did 51.06mpg for the trip two up!

Stayed in a self contained chalet overlooking the Blackwood River. Weather remained brilliant the whole time we stayed in Augusta. On Saturday we went for a ride out to where the Southern Ocean and the Indian Oceans meet. Took a few pics around the lighthouse. Had a lazy rest of the day.

On Sunday we headed out for Perth, heading inland to Nannup, where we stopped for a coffee break. We then headed to Bridgetown on a road I hadn't traveled before. It was another great road typical of the area. Then up to Donnybrook (apple growing area) for a fuel stop. Then non-stop to Waroona for a coffee break. This was our last stop before me and the wife peeled off to go home, while SP & ms had another 120km to get home. I covered a total of 710km for the enjoyable trip.
