    Check this out

Those of you who know what I do for a living will know that I just had to post this.
Saw this last week at MedTrade in Las Vegas. The chopper is by West Coast Choppers and the whole set up was done specifically for a young guy in a wheelchair (ie it is actually used regularly, not just a design exercise). Very cool.

Looks like Monstar Garage might have had some inspiration into that. Pretty slick. Even has an air shifter on it.

That's cool. The design problems are a challenge or do you customise existing parts - machines, equipment etc?
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.

I thought it was already hotted up.

Actually have seen an SV with the same wheelchair design.

Awesome trike, the rear tyre choice surely based on aesthetics over function though?

That sounds both very challenging and very rewarding.

    Positioning?

The stuff we do is a mix of creating new stuff from scratch along established principles, new stuff using some proprietory product and making the rest, and a few "off the shelf" products.
We have traditionally dealt with the most complex clients that the larger companies (eg Invacare etc) won't touch. In the past this has meant we had to design and build everything from scratch; for example we built the first adult "tilt-in-space" wheelchair in NZ, the first fully supensioned electric wheelchair (we are talking double wishbones and coilovers here) long before these sorts products were comercially available.
We are probably at the point now (particularly for me) that the difficult has become the ordinary (if that makes sense) and we are starting to explore new challenges while still maintaining our "bread and butter" work to continue the income stream. Interesting times indeed.
