    Punt guns used to be set up on punts (small boats) for commercial duck / goose shooting a couple of hundred years ago. They would wait for a flock to land in front of the punt and yank a cord to set the gun off, taking out most of the birds with one shot. They were eventually banned when they realised that the ducks were going to run out.

    Doesn't beat the guy in the movie "Utu" - he had 3 shotguns customised to be one! Fark that was funny.
