My first track day... and on the 1100cc beast... should be a laugh.

I have a question or two... My bike is up and running and back on the road... What sort of wear am I going to take out of my tyres on a track day? (Bearing in mind I have not been on a track day before) How about brakes? Will I need to arrange new tyres and pads so I can get home? What is the risk that I might bin? I know these may seem like dumbarse questions but I don't know about track riding and stuff like that...
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.

Col... it's all relative really... being a first time trackday rider you'll not have much wear on tyres and brakes I'd imagine... and as to chance of binning... well that's down to how much you can control your right hand.

    Security at track

Will there be anyone else apart from the KBs?
I'll remove my top box, tank box and mirrors for the track, so will my stuff be safe when I'm riding?

My insurance specifically declares "track days" as not covered. Is there any company that will insure me just for the day?

Yep stuff will be safe, we seem to be an honest bunch...
As for insurance, if you're over 30 then Classic Cover will cover you no probs including track days.....cheapest around i've found.

Even if you go pretty hard, your tyres should be fine unless they're shagged to start with (but Frosty won't let you on the track if they are).
Just make sure its up to warrantable standard and you'll be fine.
The chance of binning is pretty low, as long as you know your limits of talent.

Yup, Kiwibike are cool. No problems raping my '10 around both Taupo and Pukekohe during the recent open day. I'm doing my best to get down there for the trackday...
