Some of the best have to be...
    Ashes to Ashes
    Jean Genie
    Suffragette City
    Rock 'n Roll Suicide
    Five Years
The Man Who Sold The World
    Sorrow
    Ziggy Stardust
    Moonage Daydream

But there are so many I'm bound to have missed a couple.

    Modern Love.

I don't want to go out
    I wont stay in
    Get things done

    I catch a paper boy
    But things don't really change
    I'm standing in the wind
    But I never wave bye-bye

    But I try, I try

    There's no sign of life
It's just the power to charm
    I'm lying in the rain
    But I never wave bye-bye

    But I try, I try

    Never gonna fall for
Modern love - walks beside me
Modern love - walks on by
Modern love - gets me to the church on time
Church on time - terrifies me
Church on time - makes me party
Church on time - puts my trust in god and man
God and man - no confessions
God and man - no religion
God and man - don't believe in modern love

    It's not really work
It's just the power to charm
I'm still standing in the wind
But I never wave bye bye

    But I try, I try

    Never gonna fall for
Modern love - walks beside me
Modern love - walks on by

Too difficult to choose, but "Life on Mars", "Ashes to Ashes", and "Absolute Beginners" would have be up the top of my list.

The man's a genius, and that voice........!

He's done some weird stuff in the last decade though....

Ah yes, very cool song. As I mentioned before, Seu Jorge has done some very cool remakes/renditions of some Bowie songs in 'Life Aquatic'. All sung in Portuguese and peformed on a classical guitar. Very cool....counting down from ten in Portuguese ala Space Oddity when the pirates are boarding the ship is quite funny.

I can't pick one single favourite track, there's just too many quality tunes to the man's name. To name a few of my favourites:

    Kooks
    The Bewley Brothers
    Andy Warhol
    Amsterdam
    Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps)
    5 Years
    Queen Bitch

Sounds like you like Hunky Dory a lot, going by that list.

Life on Mars is off Hunky Dory as well, which is what I picked. And I'll have you know I liked it well before the television mini series came out

How can you not love the lyrics? They're so surreal...

"Take a look at the lawman
    Beating up the wrong guy.
    Oh man!
    Wonder if he'll ever know
He's in the best selling show."

    And then later...

    "It's on America's tortured brow
That Mickey Mouse has grown up a cow.
Now the workers have struck for fame
    'Cause Lennon's on sale again.
See the mice in their million hordes
From Ibeza to the Norfolk Broads."

Except I always used to think it was "'Cause Lenin's on sale again.", which I found very amusing because Lenin was a communist...

Yeah, lots good stuff from that guy, 'Low' was underated, 'Station to Station' featured some good numbers (as did my supplier) but really, the first step was 'Space Oddity'. Well done that man.

Why - are gnomes and midgets from the same genus?
