A great central location that might be worth considering is the Staverly Scout camp in Methven area. I sure they would hire it out and all facilities are there. For what it is worth.

There is also the Lee Camp out Loburn direction (I think).. we've had a couple of Plains Club doo's there. heaps of cabins, tent space & great facilities! Sure it's not THE great ride for the ChCh clan.. but they could get there VIA Arthurs & the Lewis!

Honestly though.. if ya looking for atmosphere.. where we can't annoy anyone.. 'The Staging Post' approx 40ks south of Kaikoura is PERFECT!!!!!!! & $10 per person/night also has a tennis court & swimming pool! & in the middle of no where!!!!!!

Even have a ampitheatre hidden in the bushes.. with working lights.. where the NZ Symphony Orchestra & Kiri te Kanawa (sp?) have played!!!!!!!!! (we've had impromtu Plains Club talent quests.. )

A poll - yes we're thinking alike. I would like to see some pics of that Staverley scout camp first, and also go to our original site and see if there is a tenting option handy enough to the bunkrooms. I have a trip to Geraldine to do some time in the next 2 weeks and was planning on going up via Oldrider and having a look at the site while there and talking to the manager again.
So yep a poll is a good idea but we've got plenty of time and I'd like to wait till we've done this (and by then I might have also worked out how to put up a poll on this thread - feel free to PM me with instructions Jantar)
