Sounds good, Is there any internet info anywhere about these sites?? Is someone checking out Loburn, and Stavely availability prior to the Poll being launched?

2006 "Hard Core" Badge available in about 3 weeks. Those going to the "Monkey" will be able to get them there,

I ahve been in contact with the booking person for Staverly. It is owned and run by a church group. They have stated that they do not like alcohol being consumed on the premises. Probably means that it is unsuitable. Best look at alternatives?

Just label all your bottles and cans 'Sacramental Wine' and you'll be fine.

OK, Mt Somers Holiday Park is available for Saturday 8th December 2007. We will need some consensus or other site options available quite soon so as to secure. Apparently there is a PUB quite close nearby! If we fill the 5 standard cabins with average of 5 persons cost will be $16.80 per person per night.

Hi, yes we have enough accommodation for the date requested.
We have 5 standard cabins that sleep 6 = 30
1 standard cabin with a double bed and 2 bunks (4)
2 ensuite cabins with dble bed & 1 set of bunks (8)
we also have 4 caravans that sleep from 2 to 4 people.

The usual price is $42 for 2 in a standard cabin & $14 each extra
    the ensuite $63 for 2 & $14 per extra (2).
You can have an average of 5 singles in each of the standard cabins beds. If people want the ensuite just because they do not want to share with other people ( which often happens ) they pay the full rate
We have the choice of 2 rooms for a big group like yours for your social gathering..
hope this is of some use to you.

    .
I'm in as well - the location is about as Central South Island as you can get and I'm sure those who live close can find a devious route to get there.

One question though XK - no mention of tent sites for the overun 'cos there will probably be more than 25! - can we tent and what do they charge for that?

7 Hard Core KB'ers now have their Mt Cook badges!!!

Mt Somers is on SH77, just South of Stavely, west of Methven.

Don't know if I like the idea of Mt Somers - too close. Sure we can take the long way there and back but I can't be arsed with that. The idea put forward by Dangerous is etter (Blackball Hilton) or somewhere on the West Coast. I think we'd be better off trying to get a handle on numbers first before worrying about where to have it. Who knows; the numbers we end up with could mean staying at Otematata.

For those of us who have to travel from either ends of the Island.. it is a LONG way.. So if you 'can't be arsed' going via the long route so as to get a decent ride in.. then tough! The idea of the central venue, is to cater for 'everybody'.
