Nice one Shafty,good reading.
I wish I had stayed in Bluff to enjoy the party - next time for sure.
Great few days eh.![]()
Great write up, Pete. You captured the spirit of the week v well. A few other points; after being on the road for a couple of days, I felt I had been away from home for a couple of weeks or more. The autumn colours all around the countryside, top to bottom, were stunning. And lastly, it was b cold in lower SI and I'm pleased to be back in the warmth of the Waikato with daily max temps 20C +/- and not 5C +/-. david
Great write up mate.
Many thanks for letting me tag along with you.
Great day from Tauranga to Wellington. Riding toward the sun rise I had Bono telling me it was a "Beautifull Day" then as we were skirting round Shannon with the mist rolling in and you silhoueted in on coming headlights to "The Dark Side of the Moon" got a bit trippy.
Sent you a text before leaving Dunedin in case I had to back track to Oamaru and give you a lift to the finish.
I've stolen that photo of the FJ's - ST's and a sole CB for my wall paper.

Cheers Mate - it was a buzz of a ride alright huh? Leaving Tauranga in the dark and heading with you and DucatiJim thru Paengaroa with the mist rising, then the spectacular sunrise as we flowed along the Matata coast was special too.
Getting texts from y'self and the Mad Cockie were well appreciated when the chips were down, made me feel a million dollars.
I've done heaps of o'seas travel, but silly as it may seem to someone who hasn't done the SX, I'd count it as a 'trip of a lifetime'.
Must send you some more pics sometime.
