eek GP125 Revving, and revving, and revving!

Hi guys, I'm having a problem with my GP125 Bucket.

Since i last raced it, its been behaving strangely... it bogs down, and then the revs climb by themselves on a shut throttle.

Yesterday, it revved past redline, and turning ignition off and hitting the killswitch didnt kill the motor, so i had to put it in gear with the brakes on and stall it..

any ideas on what this could be? I'm taking the motor out today for a rebuild anyway.
    Sorry Officer - I wasn't speeding, i was qualifying...

Maybe the carb slide isnt closing properly, it dosnt take much for it to rev at redline with it in neutral. As to the cant turn it off problem you could also check the crank seals, has the kill switch ever worked?

it closes properly, kill switch is usually fine, engine's never been apart until today, i'm taking it out, and sending it in for a rebuild. is strange though... hopefully the rebuild cures it!
