crikey...i disappear for a few hours and the place goes to the dogs....

    so anyway, the helmet:

looks goooood, cuts the air very nicely, very comfy, good fit and im finding the flip face handier than i thought i would (i didnt actually buy it for the flip face, i just liked Nolans and the other features this one had)

wind noise? better but ill probably still use the ear plugs on longer rides, not as good as i'd hoped....and it is a little heavy compared to other helmets, i think the race version shoeis and arais are about 12-1300gm? my old one is about 1500, this is more like 1700 - i guess ill get a strong neck

the best feature? the pinlock visor antifog thingy: you CANT fog this thing up - at slow speed in the cold (like 30 minutes ago), visor down, vents closed and breathing directly onto it and it just refuses to fog up. and i dont mean it fogs a little and goes away really quickly, it just doesnt fog up at all - very impressive.

....and now it has bugs on the front

Well, I never said you were deviant lol.

And you're right, so I will be responsible and talk about the ride now Plus helmets, additives, and leisure time

    I reckon!

I'm really looking forward to the ride, I'm considering a sickie on Monday as well. Probably won't though lol.

Yod, your helmet looks and sounds great!!! The flip chin piece will be really useful I'd say.

And the additive seems to have worked really well - on both bikes. I had a backfire developing on my newer one, and after only 40 km or so it has stopped and is running really smoothly now! So it could have been a sticking inlet valve maybe. Or a number of things.

These additives must act as a detergent and dissolve deposits, I only hope they completely dissolve them and then pass them out through the exhaust as vapour and not small solids.

Seeing as though both the bottle and the website state they are "safe" then I would say they are.

I also got some Nulon Silicone spray for general lubrication and protection as well. I was a bit dubious about the brand, not knowing it, but this spray seems really good, nice and 'waxy' and doesn't leave any obvious residue. Which will be important with winter getting more and more obvious.

I can also highly recommend the Motoline chain lube as well. I got it from AFC and it has been great with very minimal fling. And has lasted very well. It's very similar in appearance to the wax film that new chains are coated with at purchase, in fact, it's probably exactly the same substance, which has to be good.

As for leisure time, hmmm it's one weekend at a time right now, tho sounds like Phantom and Meanie have cunning plans

yup...looking forward to this one, glad i've got a no fog helmet for a 6am winter start too!!

i did about 50km last night to try and run some of the additive through the engine, then topped up with about 8 litres of fuel and put a little more of that additive in when i got home

hard to say if there was any improvement in such a short time but it seemed to climb to redline a bit easier, but still the odd little flatspot

will see on sunday i guess
