What kind of tyre milage do you get out of your 250?

Just out of interest this! Today I had a new rear wheel (Diablo Pirelli) for my little ol'Hornet. $380 simoleons and voila! I rode to 'Treads after I finished punishing the last of my little cherubs and to my pleasant surprise, was the only bike riding up the ramp!

So ... I got 20,000km each out of my two previous Diablos (and a dogpoo patch on the last one for about 500km by Blairos from the last Saturday Pootling ride! )

How do other brands stack up for milage? If possible, give details about how you ride it hard/nanna it!

i got 4,000 to 5,000 out of gpr 70's on my zxr 250's

how the hell did u get 20,000? u a complete nana?

lol yer riding twisties alot gets expensive , when ya buy sticky tyres....

Must be! I love going for pootling rides ( read : 500km at least! ) I don't have a need for speed and go at the speed limits (most of the time ... ) I dunno, I guess my little ol'Hornet just makes for a sedate riding experience!

If you're smooth you can get awesome mileage, have a mate with a bandit 1200 who consistently gets well over 20k from a set of tyres, he is fast but smooth with pretty much only open road stuff...

Bridgestone BT45 on a VTR 250 - lasted 10,000km. Nana through the week, idiot at weekends. No chicken strips but got squared off by daily motorway commute.

Reckon my Ducati will chew them tyres a bit more.

Tried a hill start on my duc this evening - wow the torque was something else.

I got 9,000 out of my rear Pilot Power and 13,000 out of my front and only changed it cause it was ridgeing...

I the strada must be alot harder then the normal diablo, mine didn't last 6000kms

I'm on about 16000K with the pilot activs (Michelin) and I'm no where near having to replace them .. not bad for a $400 set of rubber.

Although, I could be that I ride like a nanna ?? ... LOL

10,000km off a sport demon on the rear...was replaced prematurely due to puncture...would've lasted another 2,000km. The rear squared off as i was a bit slack at keeping track of the pressures - so again there was room for more mileage.

I got 6k out of a 005 Shinko rear.

I got 26000k out of my rear shinko, somebody else I know got 25000k out of his. My riding is mostly motorway with a few trips over the Rimutakas during the week on the way home and every second or third weekend a 300-600k ride

Avons will last on my featherweight 250 until they go rock-hard and crack, like what is beginning to happen to the ancient tyre on the front

Need to replace it soon, I think lol. Don't know how long it's been there. I've done quite a few kilometres on the rear that was new six months ago (about 8000kms), and I can't see any wear apart from the difference in some chicken strips on the sides. Avon Roadrunners, don't know what sort of softness those are?

I don't really know to be honest... I'm running on Dunlops (not sure which ones but according to HTDBoy they're not the good sticky ones)... and I've done about 5000+/- k's on them and they still have heaps of k's to go...

I don't ride like a nana, but I'm not a hoon either... and now after this recent trackday I've got some more skills to practice... no doubt I'll be riding harder in future

I trashed my stock rear dunlop in a shade under 3000km-guess it reflects poorly on my style of riding-or not, depending on your point of view. Alot of two up foolishness though. Gone for Bridgstone this time
